I glued the flashing up and then tried to nail some trim up to hold the flashing in place, but I couldn’t get a good angle to nail it in (leaning out of window, 50mm ring shank poly pins) so I only got a couple of nails in all the way. i have 170mm joists, and I want to board an area 1.2m x 2.4m . i was thinking of using C24 untreated timber which is 90mm high, so I’d get 260mm of fibreglass insulation plus the OSB boards on top. Is it ok to use untreated timber for this? Is it ok to not have an air gap above the insulation...

It was noticeable because it's a hallway. It tapered in about 40mm to the front door

You mean just rest the boards on top of the insulation board? Doesn’t laying impermeable ins board on top of fibreglass roll prevent air flow ? I read somewhere there needs to be an air gap above fibreglass or rockwool.

So I tape joints then try and get it roughly flat with undercoat plaster? Is it easy enough after that to get the wall flat with a skim coat?

The wall was not parallel to the opposite side of the hallway, The door was about 20mm nearer to the opposite wall on one side than the other. So I moved the door frame out on one side , added 20mm of wood to the other side of the frame , dot and dabbed some plasterboard over the original board...

Do i need to seal the edge of it with silicon or is it unecessary on the top of the window?

The loose flashing is along the whole top of the window. The window on the left catches on the flashing when it opens. The flashing isn’t lead, its grey but I dont know what it's made of, I don’t think it's metal

How do locate the right hinges and is this a DIY job?

I have a small upvc window that won’t fully close, there is a gap of almost 10mm on the hinge side at the bottom only. It will only close if I slam it which doesn’t seem like a good idea. How can I fix this? Its on the 1st floor.
