As DP said the boiler would not ignite with the pump was faulty. Looks like the divertor valve is sticking in the hot water position. There is a service kit to repair this. I think its part no 0858 and costs around £10.00

Follow the cold water inlet pipe and you will find it located between the gas valve and pump

I had the same problem and it was due to fridge magnets on the front casing. removed them and boiler worked fine

have you used the valve at right hand side below boiler to top up the water pressure. If so have you returned it to the upright position. This is a three way valve. up water flow, horizontal off, down wards fill system.

I think you plumbers are referring to the wiring for the new boilers. Some boilers controls are 24v therefore two port valves would be required. if boiler is 240v controls then the three port will be ok
