    Expansion Tank Noise

Found the plastic cap you were speaking about and I can confirm air is coming through it when opened and not water. Is thumping noise normal for this setup when water is turned on/off quickly?

    Expansion Tank Noise

House is only up 2 years +months. As I say the thumping noise is mainly heard when turning the water on and off quickly. For months I thought it was a loose plastic pipe under the floorboards that was moving about as I turned the water on/off. But a few weeks ago I noticed a dull thump even...

    Expansion Tank Noise

Hi there, I know the heating system (oil) was serviced in September but I am not sure if they serviced the expansion tank. I live in housing association rented accommodation and they are very good at getting things fixed so I gave them a call earlier today and registered my concerns. A...

    Expansion Tank Noise

If it helps I've uploaded a short audio file of the noise but to hear it you have to stick headphones on or be at a computer with speakers. This is due to using my phones recorder. https://www.dropbox.com/s/6yunzrprv5299wg/Water%20Noise%202.mp3?dl=0

    Expansion Tank Noise

Getting a knocking/thumping noise from my expansion tank every time I turn the cold water taps on and off in the bathroom and recently it's continued to make the sound even when I've stopped running the water for a few minutes. Notice it more so when I turn the water taps on and off quickly...

How do I take a feed from these pipes for a dishwasher?

Thanks again mate. After careful consideration and several beers I decided to drop the iso valve for 2 reasons; 1. The stopcock is close by & 2. I therefore felt this was all overkill given the close proximity to the former. Here's the finished job.. That connection you can see on the...

How do I take a feed from these pipes for a dishwasher?

Again thanks mate, really appreciate all your help. OK so I'm close to understanding all this lol. So I assume that when I insert the tail of the adaptor into the T valve I apply the nut & olive to it and tighten to the T valve? This is all I can think about to keep the adaptor in place. This...

How do I take a feed from these pipes for a dishwasher?

Thanks mate I got it sorted. Problem was my own stupidity as I wasn't forcing the nut to compress the olive. Whilst I have your attention, I unscrewed the isolation valve and installed the T valve in its place as directed above but I proceeded to connect the flexi to the T against...

How do I take a feed from these pipes for a dishwasher?

Need a bit of quick advice guys. Had a leaky nut so cut the olive off to make a fresh connection. Inserted a 15mm sleeve pipe support but before that I installed the nut and olive. Problem is that the olive isn't catching and the nut and olive are sliding straight off the pipe. What am I...

How do I take a feed from these pipes for a dishwasher?

Awh, OK got you now. I was looking at it that it shut off water to 2 outlets. Once you mentioned "throughput" I am now looking at it differently. This may be a silly question...but let's take this image.. Why isn't the male connection closest to the red plastic jobbie not connected to the...

How do I take a feed from these pipes for a dishwasher?

Well spotted on the male fitting requirement for the brass Y connector. Missed that. I was just confused on the need for an isolation valve when there is already a shutoff valve on the T connector. Granted the T connector shuts off water to both connections but I would have that would be...

How do I take a feed from these pipes for a dishwasher?

Just thinking there, if I look the shutoff valve off and replaced it with one these T valves, then screwed the flexi for the tap to one side and the dishwasher house to the other that would work right? Why the need for the extra bit of pipe and reconnection of isolator?

Was thinking more along the lines of these yokes?

How do I take a feed from these pipes for a dishwasher?

I'm There is play on the flexi but I'm edging more towards putting a Y on the check valve for the washing machine.

How do I take a feed from these pipes for a dishwasher?

Thanks guys, I noticed the washing machine has a check valve so would I better placing a compression Y on this rather than under sink to flexi?

How do I take a feed from these pipes for a dishwasher?

Hey guys, Need some expert advice on how I can take a feed from these pipes for a dishwasher and what I need to do it? My guess is that I use a splitter on the shutoff valve then connect flexi to one outlet and the dishwasher to another? How stable would that be and is there anyway I can...

How can I remove the base of this unit?

Thanks for help guys. What I did was remove unit as advised, then the base and replaced side pieces to close the gap at each side of the dishwasher. Looks good enough. Going to head over to plumbing section now for a quick bit of advice. PS: Alan, fortunately the copper pipe wasn't an issue...

How can I remove the base of this unit?

Thanks Alan, The reason why I just want to remove the base is that keeping the side panels on will make a better fit for the dish washer. Does the lot have to come out initially to separate the base?
