RCD reluctant to reset after being isolated

That was the first thing I done when it would not reset, but I knew was pretty careful as I only wanted to see if was a bit of slack to get it out for a look in the cavity but there was next to no slack at all so just put it all back. All the connections seem good, there is a nick in one of...

RCD reluctant to reset after being isolated

I've came home to the RCD tripped, and a dead kettle, not sure what happened there and was just a case of how you describe. However this MCB is not playing ball, it's sitting in the middle but a few flicks up and down and it eventually seems to catch. I was just worried was some sort of...

Extractor fans fitted correctly or not..with photos

So it's really as bad as I assumed. Thanks for your help, have wrote a letter off as they don't want to know over phone and face to face. Hearing more horror stories as time goes on, makes me wonder where else they have cut corners and been slap dash

RCD reluctant to reset after being isolated

RCD reluctant to reset after being isolated

I recently removed a mains socket plate from the wall to see if I could get a look at the insulation in the cavity. Prior to doing this I flicked the RCD on the board. When I was finished I went to put the breaker back on but it was lazy for want of a better word, it seemed to want to sit...

Extractor fans fitted correctly or not..with photos

Wonder if someone could advise, we have a relatively new build 3 bed semi and it has these run of the mill extractor fans fitted where required. As there have been a few problems, I'm not sure these have been done correctly, for one there is a lot of staining and cracking around the en suite...

    Air vents in garage..

Is this something I should bring up with then, a few more months and the house will be two years old, we are second owners. They done some snagging I think but they knew less about houses than me and didn't care as they split and only the female left in house but she knew it was going to be...

    Air vents in garage..

I wouldn't like to say as I don't know much about buildings, it's one of those kit houses I believe, doubt that helps much though

Smallest bedroom in house is the coldest.

Thanks for all the replies, the rad in the small bedroom is only marginally smaller than the other two. So the two larger bedrooms both have same rads, however the rear bedroom just does not get so hot as the front, again the front you would never dream or hitting 4 unless you want cooked but...

I can live with the noise, anyone any tips on stopping draughts coming through them and sometimes water. Guess some models are designed for this and we have the cheapest of the cheap perhaps?

Smallest bedroom in house is the coldest.

Having moved into a relatively new build (just over a year) as the second owners, I'm finding that a lot of the workmanship is quite poor, not that I'm an expert but it's plain to see. If they have been so slap dash about things I can see, I'm wondering what they have done or not be the case...

    Air vents in garage..

That is in the garage, there is a total of 4 air bricks on the wall, if that's what they are called and 4 plastic vents on the inside. As I said 3 of them are like so in the photograph where the sterling board just seems to have had a few potshots with a drill. Then there is ope near the...

    Air vents in garage..

Does anyone know how much vents there should be in garage to comply wth building regs. I'm in Scotland if the rules are different, the house is just over a year old and appears to have 4 vents but I removed one as seen it was slack and the plasterboard was not cut out, seems a bit...
