    So when the water cools down again it returns to a solid state and becomes an obstruction or even better it clings on to a flow switch or sensor. I would not be tempted in using unless I could remove it totally straight after soldering. Pete

    The optomist view would say that it maybe residual oil as the initial cutting would have soaked the area. The only way to be sure is to test the pipe from the tank to boiler under pressure . Pete

    Difficult to decipher your question, however the pump runs after the burner has turned off to circulate the heat away from the exchanger to your radiators. This is a normal function. Depending on manufacturer and model this can run on for a few minutes. Pete

    I have seen tilers use handfuls of quick dry cement thrown on top of self levelling compound to dry out, not sure if it would work with DPC compound. Pete

    Possible hole in your hot water cylinder coil if you have you one which is mixing rad water with your hot, although this would not affect your cold direct mains. Pete

    115mm angle grinder carefully cutting it all round. Then use a rubber flexible connector which have steel jubilee style bands. The come in various diameters into which you can insert a 110mm pvc pipe. Pete

    You may have a shared cold water supply and water hammer is occurring when the neighbours use the supply. Pete

    It could be various issues. Most likely your heat exchanger has clogged up or your thermistors are defective. Pete

    Can you give me your friend of a friend details as I would like to use him if he only charges £600.00 for all that work. Most boiler fitters charge more just to install the boiler never mind piping up 4 radiators too. Pete
