Recommendations for easiest way to get curve on L-shaped corner desk

Thanks - yes I read about that. Hmm. Still, the veneered tops usually look like flat cuts of wood don't they? Whereas a solid worktop will be made from finger-jointed, 40mm wide staves. It does look better, doesn't it? I'm also doubting my ability to iron on the edge properly without it being...

Recommendations for easiest way to get curve on L-shaped corner desk

I'll look into it. Wouldn't I have to create my own veneer after cutting the curved front though? I'll see if there's online companies who will do it all. I had another idea for doing it out of 600mm worktops. I think this will be a bit less of an eye-sore in terms of lines/cuts/grain matches...

Recommendations for easiest way to get curve on L-shaped corner desk

Thanks. So this sort of plan you think? These are 600mm pieces, with a 1200mm diameter circle cut through the curve piece. This program (inventor) is like dragging nails down a chalk board. Seriously my nerves are hurting with the frustration. Time to bin it.

Recommendations for easiest way to get curve on L-shaped corner desk

Hi. I am not asking how to cut a curve - I have in mind some sort of pivoting router extension arm or something. I am asking how best to approach the design / choice of cuts of hard wood tops. 2 piece, 3 piece, big middle piece, little addon-curve piece, etc.

Recommendations for easiest way to get curve on L-shaped corner desk

Hi. Can anyone please give me some guidance for how to get this curved corner. I mean in terms of what size stock/worktop to use. I can see various options, with differing looks, ease of actually doing (for a non woodworker like myself), and cost in terms of starting worktop sizes. I think I...

AC series-wiring special dimmer switch/remote control, but lights no longer come on

:D My mum used to proudly tell my primary school teacher that I'd wired up the shed with lights. In this day and age she'd get a visit from a social worker and I'd get a *******ing :D

AC series-wiring special dimmer switch/remote control, but lights no longer come on

Couldn't do it myself anyway as I can't disconnect the tails from the meter without breaking their tamper seal. Which begs the question... who fitted this 2.5mm tail? It had to be the electricity company / meter person, surely? Other than that, I'd probably attempt changing the tails myself. I...

AC series-wiring special dimmer switch/remote control, but lights no longer come on

Bit better ? and yes, i pulled up some of the flooring that's only been in for a few months. I think I got lucky getting it up without damaging it, as it's secret nailed. the white 'flex' that was damaged, which as I said, came from a kitchen socket, then up into this room, and was only live...

I'm just saying there was something there. I always thought about 50v was the smallest I'd be able to feel :)

AC series-wiring special dimmer switch/remote control, but lights no longer come on

I found that the badly damaged round cable is feeding from the back of one of the kitchen double-outlets. It is live only *from* that socket, and whilst I can't follow it the other way as it heads under another room, it doesn't seem to go to anything that is present in the house any more. It's...

About that "tingle"... Well, I can give you something to compare it to now. A neon screwdriver / voltage tester. When it's on a Live wire and glowing, move your finger around on the contact on the end.. that buzz/tingle, is exactly what I was feeling on the metal faceplate and backbox which had...

AC series-wiring special dimmer switch/remote control, but lights no longer come on

Just before I go to sleep.. would it not be far easier to replace that cable with bigger cable instead? It's only a short tail.. ?

AC series-wiring special dimmer switch/remote control, but lights no longer come on

I hear ya, but I was sick of dimmer switches dying on me. This gets around that. the transformer + 2.4ghz receiver + LED driver is all supplied with the bulb. They are good as white colour temperature (cool white to warm white), and dimming. Colours are rarely used. Seriously. I have been...
