Thanks. I have ordered a full new cover, since my 14mm socket wouldn't fit inside the diverter cover to remove the brass piece in question, and I read that they are usually stuck in place anyway. So I have ordered p/n 10020335 which I believe is the cover with that brass piece already attached...

My kit looks like this: I'm not sure where one of the pictured brass pieces goes. I know the hex one goes inside the diverter cover, and is almost impossible to replace, so I have a new cover on order.

I have the diverter service kit, and I think mine does have a spring, but it doesn't have a replacement for the brass plate that I need to remove..

Can anybody tell me how to dismantle the diverter valve? I removed the front cover / plate, but I can't see how you are supposed to get into where the bobbin, spring etc. are. It's the "brass plate - part number 2912", that I'm unsure how to remove. Should I just attack it with some mole...
