    External cabling

Thanks for that all, it's literally a twin and earth which leaves the back of the house, goes through the adjoining outside WC, out the other side, along the top of an approximately 7ft high wall, into the garage. Powers all of 2 double sockets. the total run of the cable from the back of the...

    External cabling

Hi all, a bit of advise required..... my parents have a detatched garage at the back of the garden. it has power going to it via an old style fuse box from the house. I think a rat or something has chewed through the plastic sheething and electric cable which runs to the garage on top of...

    Garage Consumer Unit

Thanks for that, checked last night and all of the other ratings are correct. Wondering why the rating for the garage is 20A and the dowstairs sockets is at 32A? Is this because the garage is a radial circuit and the others are ring finals? What's the theory behind this?

    Garage Consumer Unit

It's an attached garage and so the cable comes out of the CU and goes through the wall that the CU is attached to. The other side of this same wall is the garage. Can't remember what the breaker value is, will post it when I get home tonight....

    Garage Consumer Unit

Exactly what I was thinking..... It was a friend of mine who told me about it, no real reason was given, he just said it'd be neater and that the circuits would be seperated. Just wondering if it makes any sense.

    Garage Consumer Unit

Hi, looking for some information on garage consumer units. I've currently got a 16 way split load CU inside the house and a length of 2.5mm twin and earth going from this into the garage. This powers approximately 2 double power sockets in the garage. A FCU is also also connected to this...

    Bathroom Lighting

Never wired a light using a connecting block before, I guess using a rose is clearer for me, not too confident connecting the lights up with a connecting block though. Any ideas on the rose sitting in the loft?
