How to remove filler from UPVC window frame

I wouldn't use a Stanley blade on the frames the OP has, if they are brown they are woodgrain effect. This is just a foil stuck to the frame, a Stanley blade would make light work of removing this as well as the sealant

    The Black Economy

I had a VAT inspection a few months ago. I was chatting to the inspector about a similar thing, she said the worst culprits are take aways, it is very difficult for them to to prove without doubt that they are not declaring all income. She went on to tell me about an inspection that she did at...

washing filling with the water from the sink

You must have a blockage somewhere. The water is not flowing freely enough and is backing up in the trap, and then siphoning back to your washer. You need to clear the blockage.

This is a grid system http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Main_Index/Wiring_Accessories_Menu_Index/Grid_System/ In our kitchen it is used to isolate the dishwasher/tumble drier/washer and cooker hood. All appliances are integrated so it would be impossible to get to the socket quickley should...

    Colour of sealent? With pics

Hi all, finished off the tilling in the kitchen and it looks very good. I grouted down to the worktop and this looked really neat so didn't bother with sealing. The grout between the worktop and tiles is now cracking in a few places so I guess I will have to seal around the worktop. The tiles...

    Electric oven and hob question

Just had the kitchen finished and the Mrs doesn't like the gas oven, she is scared of gas but I persuaded her because I prefer a gas oven, she won't use it so I will have to get an electric oven. When we had the wiring done I told the sparky we were having just an electric hob fitted, he...

    Damp patch on wall

Hi all, I have a damp patch in one place on the back wall of my house. I installed decking around 18 months ago and although it is below the DPC I did butt it up tight against the brick work. Thinking it may have been this causing the problem I have cut the decking back an inch so it is no...
