    Can you stain MDF?

Hi all, we have had a new staircase built, the actual main stair case is MDF and the spindles & hand rail are pine or redwood. I wanted to stain the hand rail and the part of the step you stand on, with the rest in white thought it would be a nice contrast but am worried that the two woods...

Multi Fuel burner - decorating the walls around it

Hi all, we have just had a fuel burner fitted and our room is painted cream. The guy that fitted it says it looks really nice if you paint a darker colour behind it for example shade of mushroom or similar which makes it really pop out. I cannot find any photo's online like this, they seem all...

Hi all, we have a very small bathroom and coverage for flooring is 2 sq meters. We have got a quote for a mosaic karndean coming out at just under £500. Been told that we have to buy one pack only, we will have some waste as it's over 3 sq meters, that's around £160, an extra £50 as they...

Bedroom & bathroom doors have to match?

Hi all, currently renovating our home and I really like the cottage style oak doors, as an example click below. Now it's not a big house therefore the 2 bedrooms & bathroom all near each other. I kind of feel this type of door is not particularly suitable for a bathroom but will it stand out...

Window colours agreed with planning/conservatin question

I was thinking a more soft white than brilliant tbh. My hubbie says go with an ivory or lighter cream (not yellow) that way we are keeping to what they say. but what I am finding hard is inside our house our walls will most likely be cream (hubby not in to colours) and I would like the windows...

Window colours agreed with planning/conservatin question

Hi all, so we have had planning permission with discharging conditions on our windows, we are in a conservation area. Although I told our builder I wanted white he has agreed with planning on cream and I was wondering if we went ahead and painted white is it likely to cause a whole load of...

Anyone painted their windows in cream?

Bit of a random question. Just bought a place in a conservation area and they advised they would prefer the wood painted in cream, I was going to paint them white. I am not totally against it but I am worried that cream will not keep its colour and will just look dirty further down the line...
