Please comment on this photo of Ultracom expansion vessel

Thanks for all replies and I am going to leave well alone. I understand the concerns raised - the boiler is being serviced this coming week

The pressure drops very slowly - it has always needed topping up about 3 times a year but I suppose that is not excessive?

Please comment on this photo of Ultracom expansion vessel

This is the pipe union to the expansion vessel in my Glow Worm Ultracom 30cxi. See the white fur at the top of the nut and the green marks below. Do you think that this indicates a slight leak? My first instinct would be to attempt to tighten the nut, however thought I would ask you guys to...

    Bargain Li-ion Drill / Driver

I bought one of these from Lidl the last time they had them. Parkside tools get a good rating in this month's Which? magazine. http://www.lidl.co.uk/en/our-offers-2491.htm?action=showDetail&id=13261&ar=7 It is amazing for the price. Feels chunky and reassuringly heavy in the hand. You can...

Was looking at a Draper Redline 14.4v Lithium Ion drill driver. Does anyone have any experience of these Redline tools?

    LIDL 10.8V L-ion drill/driver £30

Lot of positive comments - I am happy :D Interesting comparison pics Deluks, similar to when the Russians copied Concorde (I hope the outcome isn't the same though) :!:

    LIDL 10.8V L-ion drill/driver £30

I've just bought one of these: http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/www_lidl_uk/hs.xsl/our-offers-2491.htm?action=showDetail&id=2726 I realise that this is not for professionals, however for the DIYer it is perfect. I love the way that the chuck pulls off to reveal an integrated screw bit...

Who will install integrated solar panels with my new roof?

Although this question isn't strictly DIY, I couldn't think of a better place to ask it. I am thinking about having the roof tiles replaced and would like to go with integrated (in-roof) solar panels. Theoretically this should be much neater than add-on panels but who would take on the work...

Please suggest flexible connector for soil stack?

Thanks for the great advice. I wasn't aware of slip couplers but now I have read up on them it's obviously the way to go :D

Please suggest flexible connector for soil stack?

I have a PVC soil pipe in my integral garage. It runs from the floor to just below the roof, where there is a bend to go outside. I want to connect another WC into this stack but there is no room to manoeuvre the pipes in the vertical direction. Can anyone suggest a suitable flexible connector...

Ultracom 30CXi - replace pump head or complete pump??

Well, I have learnt a lot in the last week! First of all thanks to ianmcd for the advice - it kept us warm! There were 2 Wilo pumps at B&Q: One B rated, about 50W and an A rated smart pump 15 - 45 W. The B rated pump head was the same physical size as my old pump, so I bought that one - mistake...

Ultracom 30CXi - replace pump head or complete pump??

Thanks. I have now removed the head and can see that there would be no need to replace the whole pump. When I turn the impeller it is really rough, so that accounts for the noise. I can't see any CP numbers on the pump but here is some of the identification: CDH Class F - TF95. 4514471...

Ultracom 30CXi - replace pump head or complete pump??

Came home last night to find system off and pressure down to 0.3 bar (0.1 bar this morning). There is a drip from the pump and the pump had been noisy for some time. I note from the manual that it is possible to replace just the pump head or the complete pump. How do you tell which is the...

Is this a chimney cowl or a pot to be laid in mortar?

Is this a chimney cowl or a pot to be laid in mortar? I now have a wood burner and need to replace the existing gas cowl (see in second pic, quite black now) I bought the new one quite cheaply off e-bay, the outer diameter of the lower spigot is 8". I am concerned that it...

    Circular TCT Blade question?

Thanks for that - I think I will go for a Freud gold blade next time. They are 250mm and my saw requires 255mm. Can I use 250mm in my saw?
