Yuore not getting power from the room stat, its either faulty or there is a problem with the actual wiring

When you call for CH do you get 240v(ish) on the white wire to the valve?

Does the valve move to mid position if both heating and water are called for?

I find, very often, the meters are originally fitted correctly then the cupboard, shelf, bracket or whatever is supporting/holding it is altered making the installation less than perfect. If the house changes occupants the new people blame the installer.

I find it odd that to start with you fitted a stat and it didnt work, then, after a few comments, a service has stopped it working !

Could be air in the boiler, turn heating on, boiler will lock out so reset a few times. It might need a new diaphragm.

Does your installer not know?

Have these 2 rads ever worked? What boiler/system do you have? How many rads, in total do you have? What have you done to try and rectify the problem?

I would NEVER recommend either plastic pipe or microbore, most manufacturers stipulate a minimum of 1metre of copper pipe from boiler. 22mm main circuit and 15 to each rad. Having flow and return slightly diferent lengths won't be a problem

Sounds like you need someone who knows what they're doing, call in a pro.

I would go for a wireless programmable room stat, the cost is more dependent on make than functionality. The wiring would be, quite possibly, like for like, or at least minimal alteration

You could try removing one of the nonworking rads and rigging a draining system to the valves and run water through it, do both valves individually and leave it running for a while. If you just open the valve, water discharges, turn it off, it might give you a false impression of being ok.

Sounds as though you may need a new pressure reducing valve, personally i usually replace the complete control group.

Have you checked the system pressure? It should be 1bar minimum

I would suspect a blockage in the plastic pipe. The first place i'd look would be the pipiework on the landing as it sounds as though the 4 rads may be fed from there.
