I dont want to be lazy .. but then again I dont want to read a whole load of regulations on electrical work so if you have a mo can you go to the regulations part for Diy'ers/ consumers where it says they must not carry out any electrical work i their own home, then highlight it and copy it and...

If its law I am not disputing you ... but silly, I mean even minor works can electrocute or kill someone or cause a fire - so I wonder how they differentiate between minor and major electrical work?

Do you personally think its more safer to have a DP isolator fitted than a single pole to kill both live and neutral? (surmising you are an electrician by the way)

I noticed today that the mains switch in our CU is a single pole (63a fused) switch (only Live attached) - when did they do away with Double Pole mains switch and wouldnt Double Pole be safer than single pole so that when you turn off the main switch in the CU it kills both live and the neutral...

am presuming that the regs that came in about not running the lighting circuit through an RCD any more is to do with maybe if trips and its night time/dark that you fall and hurt yourself? - or predicting that because you are not coming into contact with lighting circuit as much as if you were...

Thanks for reply - I dont really know when exactly in 2008 , was regs changed in 2008. I am predicting the wires to light switches are in the white plastic conduit type stuff? - Is there any minimal impact of checking without hacking out plaster on wall to find out at all?
