    either red board or double board with 12.5 norm. you need to go crazy on insulation as well otherwise the cool zone of the garage will be drawn into the over rooms, a very common fault with inbuild garages

    Iv always been told by my heating engineer that copper is far superior than plastic piping for HCH. Didnt British Gas have issues with insuring systems that included plastic in the early days? Now i keep reading Plastic is the way to go, flexible and gives better distribution of water etc...

    iv just paid 34k shell inc studwork walls and floors i have two dormas outback too. I was looking at around 50k all in, but the extenstion is huge i think its a foot wider than my house.

    if you have a rad in every room i dont see how it would be a problem "stopping heat" getting into these rooms as the room above will be heated the same temp as the room below, so they are both going to be the same temp so if you didint insulate the upstairs would get warmer than the kitchen...

    right... i have to decide how i am going to board and tile, a bathroom and a ensuite in my house... there seems to be so many products available now i just cant decide. One source tells me to 'tank' the entire room, other sources say use waterproof boards and just 'tank' the corners and pipes...
