Hi people I need to remove two rads for wallpapering purposes but i want to do it right and have no plumbing experience. I have a combi boiler and both rads have a trv and lockshield valves. Anyone who can run me through it step by step? Any advice much appreciated.

The boiler has a timer but i just tend to switch it on and off when its needed rather than use it. Why do u ask?

I have moved into a house with a combi boiler and most of the radiators (in all the important rooms) have trvs. Only a couple of smaller radiators dont have trvs. Is my system going to be less efficent for not having a room stat anywhere? Regards

Ive got exactly the same problem and ive had the floorboards up directly where the sound appears to be coming from and i cant locate it anywhere :cry: Its driving me mad So this is a bump for any proffesional advice on locating the source of this kind of noise.

So its definetely compatible with my boiler before i go ahead and buy one - and if i take the TRV off a hall radiator is this the best place in the house for it as this seems to be the general consensus?

On rads with no trv's how do you know which side should be closed and which side open? - and does this include towel heaters?

Hi there I'm a chef for the person who asked! One of my sparkys said im running 220v - could this make a difference? What do you guys think of the idea of adapting my consumer unit to make a slightly larger NSB style 50 amp breaker fit - something ive been told is possible?? Cheers again
