    Uneven paint after 2 coats

@Robbie uk - so you think that i should thin down my paint and go over the whole area again, excluding the edges? - by thinning do you mean with water? @emilybronte - no, i didn't do the skirting/woodwork with the same paint as the walls! i meant along the edge of the walls with a brush to be neat.

    Uneven paint after 2 coats

Thanks Robbie uk. At the risk of sounding like a skint-flint, will another coat just go the same way? Down one side of the door (where there wasn't enough room for the roller) i did it all with a brush and this bit seems ok and even. I am torn whether to do the whole walls again or just try...

Hi, i am renovating a 1900's terraced house, many original features and finishes etc. we have stripped the woodchip off the walls in one of the bedrooms, revealed the original (i beleive) plaster underneath. in our haste for getting done we decided to paint straight onto it - probably the first...

Short on Space for Eaves Lintel

I am in the process of building a mono-pitch roof extension - to get a 17.5 degree pitch and enough space (150mm) below first floor windows and a 2100mm head height of patio doors i am struggling to get a lintel to fit in - how much can i notch a rafter? the opening size is 3.5m so a fairly...

    10 degree roof

thanks for your response, sorry to be a pain woody, but can i ask... is the torch on felt a generic term or is there something specific i should be specifying?

    10 degree roof

I have read some of the topics in here and spoken to BCO. they suggested that i use a double layer of felt on a plywood deck. then counter batten and bateen for tiles. the tiles will be cosmetic only as the pitch is past the minimum specified. what felt should i specify or is it enough to say "2...

    Single skin wall, what foundation?

I am designing a garage extension with bedroom above. the neighbours are a bit funny so i would like to keep everything on my side of the party boundary. I propose a single skin brick wall at ground floor level to maximise space in garage. I then want to specify a lintel to support floor and...
