How to level this concrete floor?

Hello, I have stripped a floor, which is not level. As the picture shows, the difference in level can go from 0 to -71mm, with the area on level 0 being the most different one from the other areas. The floor is made of concrete and old. I do not think there is damp in the floor but I could...

    Electricity meter looks old

To those of you who wondered what happened about the the mysterious box, I opened it and found the fuses inside: Also, I think I was right in my worry about the earth cable; all there is is this flimsy steel looking bundle of wires coming out of the supply box and going into the fuse box...

    Change old heating pipes?

Hello, I have bought a house which I believe was built in the early sixties. I am going to carry out a full refurbishment on it. The previous owners carried out little or no maintenance on it so I guess the heating system was left to deteriorate. I am replacing everything in the heating...

    Electricity meter looks old

    What is this pipe for?

The gas is cut off while I refurbish the house anyhow, then the plumber will do the necessary connections. Just because I am a worrier, can people confirm if this this the proper gas cut off for the whole house, with the lever in the position shown on the photo (in the meter box)?

    Electricity meter looks old

I spoke to the DNO and they told me that the tail gauges were fine, that larger gauges are only needed for 3 phase installations. They said that some people are saying that because there was once a panic about the current carrying capacity of the tails. About the earth conductor, they offered...

    Electricity meter looks old

Thanks, I do not know the rating, I need to check. It is a small house. Am I entitled to a meter upgrade? or are they likely to give me trouble? Also, I take it they should not charge for the upgrade. Oh yes that's right I have just noticed that meagre earth conductor. That would not be...

    What is this pipe for?

Oh thanks, so I take it this is not the main gas supply but it is connected to the gas supply pipe which must have another branch going to the boiler. right? (there is no boiler there)
