Hi Frodo, I was thinking it may of been a build up of static, I had the battery powered hand held hoover cleaning it all and hoovered the socket face plate as it had dust on it.. Yeah it had a fly lead to the box, I'll get the tester and see what happens. It's a strange one as it only happened once the Neutral broke?? And was fine as soon as I fixed it?

Thanks pal, It's a new build and never had any issues, the socket itself was also never an issue this only seems to of occurred when I added this exterior socket. I have put the socket tester in both outlets now and they read perfect. I'll get the Multimeter from work and do some testing..

But that wasn't the case.. the lives are all terminated correctly its was just a broken neutral, which when corrected meant everything was fine.? So your saying the broken neutral from the exterior socket wouldn't cause a shock?

    Garage Ceiling

Sorry didn't explain myself.. the ceiling is already fully insulated and is covered with plasterboard, this was in addition to block the noise of a boiler and to just insulate further. So I'd be basically sticking the insulated plasterboard into the plasterboard already there.
