    4kw Immersion keeps failing.

No, don't tin stranded wires that are held in screw terminals. The solder is soft and will flow under pressure and cause a poor contact eventually. Frank

    battery charger

Now where did I leave my crystal ball? Sealed lead-acid battery? Most likely needs a new battery. Frank

    FCU Wiring

Sounds like clutching at straws to me. However, fix the neutral wiring and keep persevering with the faults until they accidentally discover the "real" fault. Frank

    850W Generators

Using a petrol generator to just power an electric heater is GROSSLY inefficient. If you just need heat, I would buy a calor-gas heater. A 500w heater is not going to heat much more than a dog kennel. Frank

    Guitar amp toroidial transformer

OK, the fault is beyond the two output fuses. Now you need to get technical. Replace the 800mA mains fuse and remove the two output fuses. Power up and check the transformer has the correct output volts and doesn't blow the fuse. Use a multimeter to check the bridge rectifier. Check...

    Guitar amp toroidial transformer

Can you please clarify exactly which fuses are blown. Do you have a multimeter? Frank

    Guitar amp toroidial transformer

The fact that the output fuses are blown points to a fault after the transformer. The transformer may still be duff but you have another problem. Looking at the ratings, you need 35-0-35 to give 52c DC. Power rating for 90w output would be 120VA Frank

    buzzing shaver socket

These things usually have a mains switch that operates from the outlet socket(s) and so should not buzz with nothing plugged in. I suspect that this on/off switch has jammed on. Frank

Shaver socket in bathroom - hairdryer?

Problem is: Most (all?) bathroom shaver sockets are powered from the LIGHTING circuit which will not support a hairdryer, legal or not! Frank

FREESAT / FREEVIEW AERIAL / DISH INSTALL HELP NEEDED

That sounds OK but I would suggest getting a powered splitter for the TV aerial unless you are in a VERY strong signal area. An Octo LNB is a good choice unless you need any future expansion. FDJ

    Aerial splitter

In fact, it will be less than halved to each output as all splitters have a small inherent loss. Frank

    Aerial

If you do this, then you can cause a lot of undesirable effects. Some channels could disappear whilst others are OK, If you unplug one of the downleads, it affects the other, On analogue TV, it can produce ghosting etc. With aerials and cables it is important to preserve the impedance match...

    SDS Drill Help

With all SDS drills, you must apply a reasonable pressure as the mechanism works against a spring. If you do not do this, the percussion mechanism will have no effect. HTH... Frank
