    Help .... shower drawing air

Cheers for the replies... It is a mixer shower but and the shower head is about 3-feet from the base of the cod water header tank so that should'nt be the problem. I'll probably fit a pump in the loft but then distance from the inlets to the pump from he header tank would only be about...

    Help .... shower drawing air

Fitted an Warick flange to the top of my hot water cylinder in order to provide a dedicated feed to my shower. up & over the loft and down to the shower, 22mm pipework up until the last 2.5 metres or so which is 15mm. I did not put an anti gravity loop in as I have not fitted a pump ( and the...

    Essex Flange

I would say you are correct on both assumptions Porker and that's the main reason I am going to fit the flange. At present it has a compression fitting screwed into the top and a t-piece right after it going to my HW and up to a small bleed valve. That's my job for the weekend...

    outside lights

Change your garage CU to one incorporating an RCD first... IEE reqs require this for outside equipment. They are only about £30 in total from City Electrical Factors for the whole unit including the 6 & 15amp MCB's then you can come off the 6amp side for your new outside lights

    External waterproof wall socket

Stick with the Clipsal one you initially show, it's probably one of the better ones and only £10 for the socket and £8 for the plug from Screwfix. I have the same one on two of the outside walls of the house and you can leave the plug in when it's raining I think TLC sell the socket for...

    Essex Flange

Cheers Masona ...... I had actually found that same website minutes before your post and as for the antigravity loop it appears that it is only necessary if you fit a pump. At the moment that is not my plan as with 3-teenagers in the house I would be getting up for work (after them) to be...

    Essex Flange

Thanks for the reply corgiman... I already have a 22mm pipe coming out of the top of the cylinder feeding the domestic HW, how would I then fit the Surrey flange? If I removed the current pipework and fitted a surrey flange, would I then reconnect the pipework along with the new shower...

    Essex Flange

How difficult is it to fit an Essex flange to my hot water tank ... I am fairly competant in basic plumbing skills (even if I am a Spark), I replaced the tank about 6-months ago and replumbed and fitted a new bathroom suite. I now want to run a dedicated hot water supply to the shower...

Another oven and induction hob question

I am 95% sure that the old Centaur rewirable fuses are the same dimensions as the Wylex rewirable fuses and the holder itself is the same as the Wylex one. If the Centaur whole fuse wire cartridge for the 5amp is white (wylex has a white dot), 15amp is blue (wylex has a blue dot) and 30amp red...

Another oven and induction hob question

No probs il78...had to read it twice myself when I seen your reply.. I have seen them for the WYLEX fuses and for the MEM but as they are all now obsolete, you might find it difficult to obtain one... If you have the brown WYLEX fuses you can get a plug in MCB to replace the fuse...

Another oven and induction hob question

You won't get 40amp fuse wire ...30amp is the max, you can get 40amp cartridge fuses but you will need the holder for them. Your cooker + oven will not be drawing the full load you calculated as there will be a diversity factor ie. not all rings and oven likely to be on at once. What you...
