Fitted an Warick flange to the top of my hot water cylinder in order to provide a dedicated feed to my shower. up & over the loft and down to the shower, 22mm pipework up until the last 2.5 metres or so which is 15mm.

I did not put an anti gravity loop in as I have not fitted a pump ( and the diagram provided with the flange does not show one). The problem I have been having is that air is getting in the system, I assume that the water is starting to 'fall back down the pipe and into the tank?

When I turn the shower on the water is fine for a minute or so then it stops, if I disconnect the flexible hose from the top of the mixer the water gurgles out for a minute or so, then constant hot water, reconnect the flexible hose and the shower is fine...

I definately have the right outlet of the flange feeding the shower!
Would fitting an anti gravity loop after coming out the tank cure this problem??

Sounds like there may not be enough pressure to run the shower, is the head correct. Meaning the distance between the header tank and the shower head.

Maybe pumping the water could be the solution!!

I'm guessing this is a mixer shower!!

Does an addtional thought count as spamming????

Cheers for the replies...

It is a mixer shower but and the shower head is about 3-feet from the base of the cod water header tank so that should'nt be the problem. I'll probably fit a pump in the loft but then distance from the inlets to the pump from he header tank would only be about 1-foot.... don't know if that would be enough?

The single check valve seems like an easy to insatll solution first, where would that be fitted... on the pipework after it leaves the hot water tank?
