    Hot Water Cylinder Replacement

It's not that difficult, I replaced mine a few months back ... Your hot water to the radiators don't go thro' the cylinder coil that's only to heat the domestic hot water. I closed off the 3-way diversity valve so there would be no water flow to the cylinder + the feed from the tank then...

    Walk in shower

Yes ... raise the floor and put a run in it, but you need more than waterproof grout. You need to fit a waterproof membrane and it's a special drain that you need to give a waterproof seal I'm doing the same project. http://www.leakyshower.com/ARTICLE%20Mortar%20Bed%20Shower%20Floors.htm...

Running a supply to a garage

if you plan to fit a new RCD in the house anyway and your main CU is 'full' why not fit a new split-load consumer unit that incorporates the RCD and then you will have spare room for the garage supply. Normal practice is to fit a garage consumer unit which incorportes the RCD and 2-MCB's...

    garage power

Definately not .... run the supply to it's own circuit back at the Consumer unit and terminate the SWA into a small juction box then use a bit of 4mm Twin / Earth between that and the MCB / Fuse (assuming you are using 2.5 or 4mm SWA) Remember to ensure the continuity of the earth.

'Chuckies' ........ always known them as the white marbley stones you find on the beach. I have seen them down the side of driveways / paths probably to help with drainage or decor. Other than that ........?

    Waterproof Shower Membrane

Cheers Breezer, I may well use a pond liner (not the rubber type) It's just that it has to be a 'right first time' job as the shower will be above the lounge and I don't want any leaks...

    Waterproof Shower Membrane

I have started to build a shower 'wet room' whereby I intend to build my own base using plywood and a morter mix then tiles. I need to put a PVC waterproof membrane down under the morter and use the correct drain for it. There are plenty of articles on doing this but they are all USA based...

    Circular Saws

Your obviously talking about screwfix here ........ I reckon it's a good buy for £25 and it comes with a 2-year guarantee which as far as I know, Screwfix would just replace it with a new one if you had any problems with it. Wolf was always a well known make for quality tools

Running a supply to a garage

You would be better fitting the small CU in the garage, terminating the SWA in a junction box at the main board and connecting into a spare fuse/ccircuit breaker in the main CU (if possible)

Removing Radiators Temporarily to Retile Bathrooms

There should be no problem that I can see .. might be a wee bit awkward depending on where you decide to join the pipe if the existing pipe is not long enough. I did similar in my own bathroom recently and everything is working OK

    electrics

Yes you should if it is going into a spur unit (lower rated single oven) but if it is a high rated double oven you can connect the 6mm T/E from the outlet box straight to it

    Nuetral Joints at Switches

:? A question for the fellow sparkies .. I'm just about to start a middle flat rewire (no great problem) but as usual the walls are solid all round with fancy cornicing. I'm hoping to use the existing lead sheathed cable where possible as draw wires as these can be seen from the hall. I...

    To twist or not

Leave them seperate ... depending on how many cables and the make of socket you can strip the insulation back far enough and fold the cable back on itself (as mentioned in your initial question) to give a tighter connection
