    ants

Although the common gold fish is indeed a carp I have never seen any of mine eat ants. Infact I have never seen any of my fish since the herons last visit.

    MIXER TAPS

A mixer might not be the best idea. Not enough pressure to get you wet if the tanks in the attic are just a few feet above the proposed height of your shower head. Fit an electric of the rising main.

    ants

Move house, I've had them in my garden for 16 years and I napalm every colony I find, they just come back. If you've just got a scout/ranger ant in your house make sure you kill it. If you've got a troop get traps from the supermarket, they work. Don't waste money on ant powder, its carp.

Flexi Tap tails with parellel thread + 2 O seals Tightness?

I probably need the rest of what would be a standard 15mm olive compression at one end with the other having a flat male.

Flexi Tap tails with parellel thread + 2 O seals Tightness?

Sorry Kev no pic but the thread+Oseals are exact as your pic. The other end is just a compression nut fixed behind a brass body and rubber washer all which are an integral part of the flexi pipe assembly.

Flexi Tap tails with parellel thread + 2 O seals Tightness?

No, the flexi tails have a 3/8th - 10mm BSP with 2 Oseals at one end that screw directly into the mixer body. The other end has a compression nut with the internal rubber washer that I think needs a flat ended/surface 15mm male compression end.

Flexi Tap tails with parellel thread + 2 O seals Tightness?

Just about to connect to pipework and now realise that the compression nut end of the flexies which have an internal fitted rubber washer doesn't look right to tighten up on the existing sharp edged olive style compression fitting, looks like it would cut the rubber. Should there be a flat...

thanx thermo, I did have patience. Every summer, on hot sunny days I've dug this out for about the last 6 years. It comes back about 20 sq meters overall

Flexi Tap tails with parellel thread + 2 O seals Tightness?

No Vaseline? seriously? the seals felt like they would rip out of their grooves when I tried them clean n dry. Would I be better using the old copper tails from old tap as I agree that these flexis do seem very weak

Flexi Tap tails with parellel thread + 2 O seals Tightness?

Hi, after fitting the tails I've noticed that part of the O seal/s have ruptured/squashed out of the ends. They seem ok (but loose) before I tighten with the spanner. Am I overtightening with the spanner. Should I just hand tighten. I did vaseline the seals and they go in smoothly. I...

    old bath, new taps

I think plumbers merchants might have tanking washers that big (for water storage tanks) but I don't know how good looking they might be. More like an engineering size washer and then chrome/stainless would be an option.

    Liverwort Major problem

thanx guys but I couldn't spray anything on this liverwort as it completely blankets the ground around all my plants and even grows up the stems on some. There is no way to apply weedkiller soley to the liverwort.

An end blanking cap for a 15mm compression joint

Is there a blanking cap that will fit on to the nut and olive left on the feed pipe after removing the 15mm compression joint body.

    Liverwort Major problem

I identified this very weird plant in an ordinary dictionary after failing to find it in any gardening book. Apparently its almost prehistoric and a bit of a hermaphrodite as it seems to have all the repro bits in one. Unfortunately it spreads like wildfire and covers my soil borders...

Hot & Cold Fill machines Hot never draws water

Hi Fido I tried to test if the machine would use the hot water if the feed had been primed. But you've probably guessed, once the feed pipe is primed it is hot so I can't tell if the machine then goes on to draw hot water. So I think from all of this that new machines don't draw domestic...
