    Remote TV?

Thanks for that! A bit of food for thought there, but at least its feasible...

    Remote TV?

I have got my broadband & television through Virgin Media. Obviously I can use a laptop without being connected to a router. Can the television be run the same way, remotely, or does it have to be physically connected to the cable? Thanks.

what sort of steel lintel would suffice?

Padstones aren't required as the beam is only used as a normal lintel..

Can I strip the bottom row of slates?

It's done on the older type terraces around my way to replace the lead lining in the old stone gutters.

    Wall plate

You just cut out the wallplate as necessary. No problem. The corner of the beam may need to be cut off to match the roof line..

    Hot water cylinder query

I have drained the cold water storage tank & syphoned the water from my hot water cylinder. In preperation for a back boiler/combi swap. When I turn the hot & cold bath taps on, water comes from the hot water pipe that runs from the top of the cylinder. Turning either tap off stops the flow...

Which way up to lay blocks?

    Bricks not blocks :-)

Concrete lintel over sewer pipe gap

Why is the opening that wide just for a drain? Anyway, a 900x100x65mm lintel is definitely suitable & will be in stock at any builders merchants.

Don't know your age or fitness Daz, but a wheelbarrow with 7 blocks in @ 3mins a trip- 20 trips you've moved 2 packs. Do an hour a night & a couple of hours at the weekend & they're gone in a week. Simple :-)

    Retaining Wall

Yes the 100mm block was to the back face and acting mainly as formwork. The blocks cracked in a couple of places though, despite filling in two pours and being propped, where as the 140's never budged.

    Retaining Wall

Just done one recently the same height as that (engineer designed) this was the make up: 100mm block, 160mm cavity, 140mm block. It was built off a raft with starter bars in the cavity. One wall was built, mesh was then tied to the starter bars, and packed off, then the remaining wall built...

    Gable Ends

Either, I take it you're not using gable ladders... put the truss against the gable.

    Leaning gate post

I can't see you moving it with a jack, with it being tarmaced all round , and even if you did you'd just lift off the footing... Take it down to ground level and rebuild, put a proper coping on it whilst you're at it ;-)

What mix to fill a cavity below dpc?

Concrete pumping in Northern Ireland? RoI? Use a Dumper Instead?

Sounds like you'd be better off getting a couple more bodies in, and maybe, paying the conc. truck a bit of waiting time if necessary. Got to be cheaper than £480.

    Garden decking.

Lucky dog :D I'm not quite sure what you're asking, the base will take 5 tons, no problem. The buried timber won't last for ever... Don't you need warm water for the hydrotherapy? Looks a tidy job anyway!
