    Which vibrating plate?

Just compact the hardcore. The wacker wouldn't travel on sticky clay anyway. Any type of vibrating plate would do. Get the smallest & cheapest :)

Garage Internal Wall - Lintel advice

Prop the ceiling joists using a plank at right-angles to the joists, supported on 2 acrow props. Cut the wall using a grinder & finish off with hammer & bolster. Or even better a petrol saw with 300mm blade. Take the 3 courses of brick down, put a 140x100mm concrete lintel over the...

Damp Under Door - Missing DPM?

I would take out the top course of brick on the inner leaf, then as you say, form a trough with DPM, and fill with concrete. I wouldn't worry about joining it to the existing membrane. I can't see one anyway?

    Rusty lintel problem

A typical problem with steel lintels... Take the few course of brick above the opening down, replace the lintel & rebuild. Concrete lintels are Ok, but don't look the best? For the wall with 4m of wall above , I'd use an acrow prop & strongboy. For the 750mm lintel.. a 550 opening, or a tad...

New linked garage floor level above DPC!?

As long as there isn't a door joining the house to the garage there's no problem. You don't need the gravel, run the concrete all the way to the walls.
