Is there an option to disable the "Send & Receive All" schedule? In outlook this is a problem that can be resolved this way. I am sure there must be an equivalent for IMAP?

Are you using up a download limit? Over usage per month can make connections lag? There is also a chance the usb wireless adapter is failing. Can you check it out, perhaps at a friends place?

I'd go with the white here also. I have aubergine curtains in my living room and I have ceiling and 3 walls painted white, one wall painted black(all Matt by the way) and the chimney plate wallpapered with a white paper with aubergine patterns. :D
