Persistent bathroom leak - have plumbers tried to bodge it?

Thanks for the replies. Luckily there is no water damage. The builder pressured me to agree to 1 week delay in payment, but I may reconsider. He says there is a guarantee though anyway. The bath panel has been replaced, so there really isn't anything visual that will explain the issue...

Persistent bathroom leak - have plumbers tried to bodge it?

I have just had a bathroom installed. Things have gone well, except for a leak which has recurred for the 3rd time. I'm getting concerned that they are trying to cover up a more serious problem. What would you think based on the following? Dripping reported from downstairs flat (below my...

Very difficult to find an Origin window installer in London?!

Hi, I am getting my bathroom redone, and in the process have decided to replace the timber sash window with an aluminium one. I've received a quote from a company that deals with Origin windows, but rather late in the process they backed out and said they will do supply only. The price they...

    Advice on concealed cistern installation

Thanks, but I guess the only way to know is when there actually is a problem that needs fixing. Like what happens if there is a leak?

    Advice on concealed cistern installation

Hi, I am having a new bathroom installed and would like to save space (and avoid building a box) by using one of these: https://www.livinghouse.co.uk/acatalog/super-slim-concealed-cisterns-for-masonry-walls.html The WC will be wall-hung and according to the product spec, only 9cm is needed...

    Wall repair after water damage

There seems to be a bit of confusion there. The external repointing and roof repairs were done to a very high standard. What you see is 115 year old brick and mortar exposed after the original water damaged plaster fell away.

    Wall repair after water damage

Many thanks. The height of the hole is about 50cm. @vinn I havent done any work on this, just loosened what was already there. These are external walls yes.

    Wall repair after water damage

Thanks for the replies. I was wondering if some kind of mortar would need to be used before plastering to fill the deepest parts of the hole (around 2-3cm) Maybe just 2-3 coats of plaster? Unibond is 1 part to 5 parts water according to the sticky on this site

    Wall repair after water damage

Hi, I am new to plastering but have done a few bits of DIY in the past successfully! Had a problem with damp that was fixed by a major roofing and repointing job around 6 months ago. It's definitely dry now, but when checking the blown plaster whole chunks of it fell away and left old...

Replacing bath & shower mixer bar

Thanks, good specific info there. I dont have the packaging from the mixer and after googling a bit it seems to be discontinued. These products seem to endlessly rinse and repeat so it's impossible to service them. But yes, the leak was around the bath tap holes so I guess they should be...

Replacing bath & shower mixer bar

Hi, I had a plumber come and replace a bath & shower mixer at short notice as it started shooting water all over the bathroom. Unfortunately he did a really bad job with the installation. A couple of rubber washers were missing from the mixer bar package and he 'improvised' with some cheap...
