Solder or compression fitting on mains stop cock?

Hi all, Have got a seized stop cock which needs swapping out. Main stop cock also seized and access is a problem for utility company so they will take a long time to do the job. I can pre fabricate the stop cock with copper and 22mm JG pushfit elbow..cut pipe live and quickly push it and then...

Core hole - carry on or hammer action and bash through?

Yup when doing mine with a makita sds drill it did jam but the clutch kicked in and stopped the drill rotating.

What space required between 2* 22mm PEX barrier pipe?

I ended up going for the 2nd hole as although i could get both pipes in, it was too tight to manipulate the 2nd pipe to its final destination. Luckily its through an internal wall (in the void of a false ceiling) so i'll put pipe insulation around it and that will be the hole filled out nicely.

What space required between 2* 22mm PEX barrier pipe?

Thanks. They are flow and return central heating pipes. Probably make sense to do another hole then and put the insulation around it like you say. Cheers

What space required between 2* 22mm PEX barrier pipe?

Hi, Have made a 52mm core hole through an 8 inch brick wall. I want to run 2 * 22mm barrier pipe through it. I can get both to fit it, but the thought crossed my mind whether there needs to be a certain minimum gap between them? With both pipes in the hole its pretty tight. I would rather...

Core hole - carry on or hammer action and bash through?

So the chain drilling helped a lot I think. 30 mins later and I cored through the remaining with relative ease. Got about 5 holes all the way through before I couldnt do anymore as the bit kept slipping back into the holes close by. But all in all worked pretty good. Cheers all!

Core hole - carry on or hammer action and bash through?

Thanks will try chain drilling to help it along. Im not running the drill on full power, keeping the revs pretty low. Maybe ill try with my 18v cordless then? At least that way can control the speed better.

Core hole - carry on or hammer action and bash through?

Doing a core hole with diamond core bit, 52mm. Going through 8" of solid brick. Been at it for an hour and only about 2 inches through. At what point do you give up and put in a chisel bit and smash through? Do most trades just carry on until completion, or they call it off after a certain point?

Not possible for extractor fan on bathroom - regs to confirm?

Thanks..Ok I see what you mean..cutting out the section of wood section should give enough space to make the core hole. Its brick work outside as well as on the inside. I'll give it a go with a core drill and hopefully make it through! Cheers

Would it not be too close to the concrete ceiling slab?
