Killing a tree in a hedge

Drilled a few 20mm dia holes deep into the trunk then topped the holes up with some off this every few days through a funnel and bit of hose pipe. I had an unwanted sycamore that kept growing very quickly back every year after pruning. The leaves turned brown and it stopped growing in a few...

Concealed shower valve in narrow wall

I need to fit a concealed shower valve/diverter in the shower cubicle are im working on. The problem im facing is the internal depth of the wall is only about 55mm. The shower side of the wall has a couple of sheets of 12.5mm plasterboard which increases the wall depth a bit more. The rear...

    Attaching cross member to joists

My wall is a paramount wall with only a couple of thin studs which i dont think is sufficient. The plan was to make an additional timber frame that ties into the floor and ceiling joists somehow then mount the toilet frame to that. I suppose I could skip the floor section but will need to tie...

    Boss adapters- rubber or plastic

Cheers. For some reason im not that confident in them especially when the branch will be under the floor....Im sure they're fine but the idea of solvent welded seems more permanent to me. Cant seem to find much so might need to put a little trust into the rubber ones

    Boss adapters- rubber or plastic

Need to fit a boss adapter for 50mm pipe And just wondering how reliable those push in rubber adapters are. https://www.screwfix.com/p/floplast-boss-adaptor-50mm/53507 Will be below floorboards so want something thats not going to give any problems down the line. Seen a few plastic solvent...

    Should this be solvent welded?

Yes it did work out easier to do what i was working on actually. In theory it shouldn't leak as that part of the svp is about 5 foot above the first waste entry. Will glue it up on reassembly as that should keep it air tight.

    Should this be solvent welded?

Doing a bit of work changing branches on the waste pipe and had the svp temporarily displaced. While genly moving the pipework the joint with the access show below hatch fell apart. DSC_3419 by 600rob posted 12 Jun 2021 at 11:18 AM Doesn't look like it was ever solvent welded...just a little...
