    DNO Cutout

Simply report it to the DNO fault line with details of access arrangements. They will deal with it from there. No different to a private location it is still up to the DNO to repair and certainly not anyone else

Selling house - required to replace old iron cut-out?

The response of each DNO is up to their proceedures but there is generally no requirement to change metal clad cutouts. Having said that we will generally do so as a non urgent job as they are past the end of their life but not unsafe. Having said that there are a couple of types still found...

    LED lighting in caravans.

Info here http://www.caravantalk.co.uk/community/topic/44237-l-e-d-s-m-d-lights/ My understanding is that you do not need to be as precise as you are suggesting with voltage

A New Bit of Kit (well in our box anyway)

Regarding the monitoring in case of disconnection. The instructions talk about a "Dummy Load" at the far end of the cable from the supply. More than that I don't know

    Meter boxes

As stated you need to contact the DNO, which looking at you location is UK Power Networks. They should have a standard price for removing & replacing the equipment in the box to allow you or your contractor(s) to replace the actual box

A New Bit of Kit (well in our box anyway)

No there is a second trip button near the bottom of the face plate, I suspect the reset will be automatic after supply is switched off then on. There is a black plastic box near the far end of the outgoing cable that may have something to do with this (only a guess), it can be seen on the...

A New Bit of Kit (well in our box anyway)

John as regards the visible device, probably but I'll check tomorrow (not driving to the office now!!) As for the second, I have no idea and do not intend opening the box to find out. Next time I see someone from Kelvatek I'll ask, but this could be some months. These devices are certainly...

A New Bit of Kit (well in our box anyway)

We would probably look for an alternative but a non RCD version would be a No No. It does beg the question if a property is causing the RCD to operate, on the safety of that installation and weather we should re-connect the mains supply after repair. I suspect that we would issue a notice of...

One Ring Failing - Anything I can check?

If it is only affecting the one circuit as you say, it sounds like a problem around the MCB or neutral connections

A New Bit of Kit (well in our box anyway)

It'll be sealed if for no other reason to prevent the neighbour switching it off Er, well, um, nope! On that subject don't expect to suddenly see hords of metal cut-outs or meters coming into use, they can be a bigger safety risk than not!

A New Bit of Kit (well in our box anyway)

Trouble is if we try and use it onto a non RCD protected house that has a fault that keeps tripping the device. That could be interesting!

How to cover gap at side of light switch

There are the likes of these http://www.grizeleyproducts.co.uk/light-switch-surrounds.html but if there are any live electrical connections involved you will need something better to totally prevent access

    Earth Bonding in bathroom

But is this extra bond unsafe or causing a problem? If neither I can't see the point of removing it just because"the book doesn't say it's needed" If nothing else the "book" provides a minimum safe wiring design, but I very much doubt it suggests anything in excess of minimum requirements is...

    Fitting of electricity meter

Tell you one thing! All of this will have been explained in the paperwork from SP. In fact I am surprised they are installing a service without a nominated supplier. One thing they will need is your MPAN number which SP should issue you with

    Checking an immersion heater.

Strange Many, many years ago the leccy board I work for always trained and expected it's electricians to be competent to change an immersion heater element without any recourse to a plumber. Similarly they were expected to be competent to do the required plumbing for a shower
