WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO PAY FOR PLASTERING PLEASE?

£100 to plaster four walls and a ceiling? I dread to think what the finish would be like. £400 is more realistic.

    Tiled side bath panel

There are several types of cement board available, you should be able to get better value for money than B&Q. As for access, it's always a problem, access hatches always seem to look like access hatches. In theory they're not necessary as the water supply can be stopped by the stopcock or...

Basic adhesive technique and maintaining level tiles

Not sure if rapid set is a good idea if you're not up to speed. Be bold with your trowel, ie large arcing motion, it helps if you can plaster. Good luck

So I've given plastering a go...

I find it's always worth buying a big tub of ready mix jointing compound. you can trowel it on ,then sand it off and it hides all sorts of imperfections. I've even put it onto painted walls, sanded it down, then repainted. the finish is pretty good.

    macerator question

A friend has a bathroom at the front of the house and the soil pipe at the rear. The bath and basin go into the toilet macerator, which is really noisy. I don't think the wc can be converted to 110mm soil pipe because of the floor joists. My question is. can I run separate wastes for the bath...

How do you hide damp problems?

I totally agree, but when it's not possable to solve the problem immediately I hoped there would be a short term way of putting the customers mind at ease.

How do you hide damp problems?

I know that the only real way to stop damp on interior walls is to stop the source, but is there a way of masking damp patches until major exterior work is done. In the past I would paint walls with sbr sand and cement slurry, and then plaster or dot and dab. I now know that this method...

Oi! Experts! I've a bone to pick with you....

I used sand and cement on thermalite blocks on my own kitchen, and it's fine. but I did totally soak the walls first.

    milwaukee cordless power tools

Not sure about the cold weather, my batteries are crap in any weather. I've used the older lok tor model and was pretty impressed with it. the newer stuff is made in China which might have something to do with it.
