We've built an new kitchen extension and need to dry line it. Using 8x4 boards should we put the boards upright floor to ceiling or sideways and have a brick pattern? Any pros and cons of both? Its a 24ft by 12ft kitchen.

Part of my central heating uses Hepworth plastic pipes. It says Hepworth 15 x 2.0 on the pipe. I need to T off the pipe and need to know whether only the same brand fittings will be needed or are plastic pipe fittings generic ie will any make of fitting be ok?

I meant a mix of sand cement and gravel. I want to make sure the f***ing thing never moves and is water proof. :-) So what sort of mix should I use if you suggest that all i need is more cement?

I need to put a small amount of concrete down around a shower tray and make sure no water penetrates it. Is there anything I can add to concrete to make it completely waterproof? The reason for doing it is that a number of times the tiles around the tray have let in water and its gone down...

What are the regulations about sitting sockets in a new kitchen? Can you still have sockets near the skirting or do they have to be a certain height? How about near to windows or internal corners? How about from water, is it a metre from the sink or a metre from the tap?
