    rover 400 electric window

Sounds like it coule be one or both of two things. Either the window is coming of the runner at the bottom, or the regulator is worn/loose. The only way to find out is to take the door panel off and operate the window while watching the mechanism. The parts aren't expensive from a scrappy

    Micra flat spots

Hi I have a 1993 1.3 16v Micra that has flatspots throughout the rev range. When i first bought the car at Christmas it would misfire quite badly at low revs, but that seems to have cleared up :? Now, during heavy acceleration, i get the flatspots, but it will rev all the way to the...

    Bath Waste

You can buy shallow bath traps for this kind of thing. Only way to know for sure is to offer the bath into position and measure the distance, or do a test installation to make sure it fits before commiting yourself.

    Sealing round a bath

A few months ago, we fitted a new bathroom suite, but i had a bit of a problem when i came to silicone round the bath...the gap between the bath and the wall was quite big and as the wall was not level, it gets gradually bigger ending up about 3/4 inch. All i did was fill the gap with silicone...

    Bathroom suite replacement

We've recently fitted the 'Amalfi' suite from B+Q. It's a showerbath, WC and Basin including basin taps, bath/shower mixer and shower screen for £399. not sure if they still have them, but it's excellent good for the price. As for steel/acrylic baths, we had the same dilemma, but i dont...

    Miele dishwasher not washing!

We have a Miele Turbothermic G579SC The last time i ran it, it went through the cycle as normal, only it did not use the detergent tablet (the flap had opened and the tablet had not dissolved) I ran it again to no avail, then again on a different cycle. Just wondering if this is a common...

    Ensuite waste

I don't really know why i'm posting, as it's all been said, but this illusion of Plumbers being a rip off is pure fantasy. Sure, there will be some that charge a high rate, but I bet if you did a survey of rates charged by other tradesmen (Sparks, platerers etc) then there wouldn't be much...

    Standpipe Height

Khyber, I wouldn't take too much notice. Like you say, everyone has their own way of doing things, i know nothing of the gas issue tho  Generally i find this sight very useful and helpful, but there is a lot of patronising comments going around! I asked a simple question about...

2 way light switch - cable question

I have a problem :( I've wired everything up and the results are confusing! I've put the mains cable Live to 'L1' and neutral to 'L2' and the link cable to 'c' on each switch (3 in total), yet, only one of the switches works :? If i go in the back room, the link switch will operate the...

2 way light switch - cable question

i'm installing a new light switch in the living room and it is linked to the one in the back room. I've whipped off the old switch and noted which wires control each switch, but the linking cables seem to be 2 core with no earth, where as, the diagram on this website show's the linking cable...

    Flexi seals???

I did think this myself, but it is more than likely going to be boxed in if possible and this seems to be the cheapest/easiest way of doing it Lee-King, thanks for the reply

    Flexi seals???

I've been asked to fit a new toilet for a customer, but the soil pipe is lead and is moulded on to the pan outlet and looks too small for a standard pan connector. I've been advised by the Plumb Centre that the easiest way to get round the problem is to use what they called a 'flexi seal' to...
