    tiling on chipboard

Hi, I have just had a loft conversion and they have laid 22mm moisture resistant chipboard throughout. I am having a go at doing the walls in a couple of days and would also like to try the floor with porcelain tiles after. In the tile shop they recommended ditra matting, as it wouldn't leave a...

How to remove expanding foam from acrylic bath?

If you haven't tried already, it might be worth a try giving it a bit of a scrub with acetone (think there is some in nail varnish remover). Don't know if it will affect the bath though. Good luck.

Ideal Icos 24 black stuff in condensate trap

Hello, I had this boiler serviced last year (3 years old) and thought I'd leave it 2 years until the next one, anyway as winter is coming I thought I'd clean the trap as this would be ok for DIY and found maybe a teaspoon of black grit in the trap that I had to wash out. Had a quick google...

Leaking male to male dishwasher inlet pipe extension

Think I'd prefer to extend the copper pipe.

How do I add another radiator to my CH system?

The flow pipe coming in to the rad will get hot first.

    Connecting Radiator

You can get them from screwfix http://www.screwfix.com/cats/102636/Plumbing/Radiator-Valves But your local merchant should have some as well. Give them a ring before you go if you're worried.

    IDEAL ICOS HE24

My mum has got one of these :( . Should i tell her to take out some insurance on it? Incidentally I was using a boiler sizing wizard posted on here the other day that suggested she should have had a 15 K boiler. I wouldn't be surprised if I have done it wrong but what sort of...

    Bending copper pipes

Maybe you are making the bend too tight. Try doing over the top part of your thigh.

Phew, thanks. Just thought I'd ask as they are coming round next week to make sure everything is fine.

Are the fumes from a combi boiler carbon monoxide?

Hi, sorry to butt in but is there a need for all condensing boilers to have a prv going outside? My mum has recently had a new boiler installed and only has a pipe for the condensate to go outside.

    Sharing pipes with neighbours

Hmmm. Wonder what the law would be if you decided to turn the water off to your neighbours.

    Pipeslice

Impossible to get a bending spring down after using a pipe slice (for me anyway) it reduces the bore so much. Better to get one where you adjust it by turning the handle.

How snuggly does the olive fit on the pipe before tightening? Have tou tried tightening it by more than a half turn?

    Grohe thermostatic bath/shower mixer

On the grotherm I fitted there was a cap that could be removed on the hot/cold adjuster to reveal a screw that could be turned to fine tune the factory set 38 degrees. Maybe worth getting a thermometer and making sure it's set right, though mine didn't need any.
