    Amp changing channels with light switch

    Ive got an amp with cd player etc, and when i switch on the lights (4 x cfl's) in that roomonly, it would change channel on my amp. now it also seems to do it spontaneously a few times a minute. any ideas what may be causing this? harmonics? ghosts? thanks

    Supply to loft.

    ...or use a switch capable of handling the full current. (might be simpler) Does this mean that you can install a lamp straight on a 32A ring main providing fitting can cope?

    Do you guys have small print attached to quotes ? Example. any alteration made to installation/s by other parties, voids any guarantee on work. If so what stuff have you got on there?

    I know, but I think in the rule that says 25% of your lamps in a new install must be low energy, it considers ELV's as low energy, I supose that's neither here or there.

    Defo wasn't wiring regs, it was "EAL certificate for domestic electrical installers level 2" is that the same as you guys are talking about? A couple of people sat in our classroom for about 3 hours then took exam with open book, and they weren't re-takers.

    You can take a one day open book exam for the EAL domestic installer cert, costs about £120 and is dead easy.

    If I was working on a lighting circuit, and the IR test came out at 0.8M, would I not be able to carry out the work on the circuit until it had been rectified? Also if that result came out on a periodic what code would it be?

    Are rewireable fuseboards unacceptable in a rented property? what would they be on the scale of 1-4 in a periodic? how about the push button MCBs?
