yeah, half a day tops if the wood is there waiting for him. I built one of very similar size, first one i built and it took about 4 hours, and i'm pretty happy with it. It aint rocket science after all.

I used a large angle grinder with diamond blade to cut 2ft square slabs that from the sounds of it are placed in the same way that yours are (up to the wall). A 4" grinder for smaller areas too.
