Nailer for fixing mdf and ply cupboards

Lol, can’t believe I didn’t even mention which power train. I have a pneumatic one, but it’s a ball ache hauling the compressor out. Although I did hang my nose over a clarke mini compressor that comes bundled with a nailer that on paper would suit my purposes well. So electric i guess.

Nailer for fixing mdf and ply cupboards

Hi all, so i have the DeWalt DCN660 2nd fix 18v nailer, but i need something that fires brads smaller than 32mm. Ideally something that fires nails 15-30mm so that it can cater for thinner materials too, not just 18mm mdf or ply. Looked at a tacwise one that seemed to fit the bill but it got...

    DIY complete fitted bedroom

Thanks fellas. I'd say my DIY skills are on the much better side of average. Just about everything will be a custom size due to the layout of the bedroom and window positions etc. So i doubt i could buy anything off the shelf. I'll be drawing it all up in SketchUp (3d) on the computer then will...

    DIY complete fitted bedroom

Thanks again foxhole. Right, so next question. :) I want to use push to open with soft closing on all drawers and doors. I need to decide on whether to do everything frameless or not. I know its a big project and i know the push to open with soft close options are expensive. So setting aside...

    DIY complete fitted bedroom

Thank foxhole. My aim is to build full overbed storage at custom sizes then i want a sliding door wardrobe like yours but the left hand door open into a walk-in wardrobe. So ideally i need the bottom sliding track to be as low profile to the floor as possible. I was thinking of standard...

    Underground rad pipe leak....

Hi all, so after some pratting around we've identified the cause of our boiler dropping pressure every couple of hours or so. A pipe leak under the rad in the living room.....under the concrete floor :( So, we've taken the decision to re-pipe all downstairs rads to above ground. I'm planning on...

    Cordless nailer for 20mm nails?

Hi, sorry for the delayed response. Yes, as i already screwed directly into a water pipe last weekend :( My floorboards are only 15mm not 18mm. I don't think glue and angling the 32mm nails is a good idea. Currently looking at the 2-in-1 hand staplers that will do up to 20mm. Some have fairly...

    Cordless nailer for 20mm nails?

Hi, so i need to nail down some 4mm ply into 4 bedrooms (totally approx. 50sqm) prior to having vinyl installed. My DeWalt DC660 won't hold nails smaller than 32mm so i can't use that. I need something that will allow 20mm nails. I have a bostitch airgun, but its a ballache to use due to the...

    Painting over Silk emulsion

I would imagine, that as its silk, you may need to key it by rubbing it all down.

How long for a handyman to build a garden gate?

yeah, half a day tops if the wood is there waiting for him. I built one of very similar size, first one i built and it took about 4 hours, and i'm pretty happy with it. It aint rocket science after all.

Tool question – Cutting paving slabs in situ

I used a large angle grinder with diamond blade to cut 2ft square slabs that from the sounds of it are placed in the same way that yours are (up to the wall). A 4" grinder for smaller areas too.

HEELLLP!!! Screed has blown and bubble up :(

Sooooooo......epic thread revival here. Seeing as the floor is STILL rising nearer the outside PVC door, i'm having to pluck up the courage to rip the whole floor up. I'll re-screed it and this time i'm going to use LVT clic lock planks instead, so no glue. Any opinions/advice on this system...

HEELLLP!!! Screed has blown and bubble up :(

Lol, well out of 7sqm i reckon that i have to redo maybe 3sqm. Yes, it could spread. Its anyone's guess seeing as i 've now spoken to other screeders who haven't come across my bubbling effect before. When i tap on the floor there does seem to be more areas where its blown now. God, i'm so NOT...

HEELLLP!!! Screed has blown and bubble up :(

Hi all, just revisiting this as: 1) I'd buried my head in the sand, cos i didn't want to think about it again. 2) its now bubbled up under the radiator, so i had to 'pop' it and smash the bubble out to stop it hitting the rad pipe. Coincidentally my floor screeder mate rang me yesterday to say...

Laptop making strange noise when playing video

Since MS no longer support XP and more importantly no more security patching, its open to hacking, and they are always one step ahead of anti-virus software. It's not related to the OP's issue, i was just surprised when i noticed XP and online banking in the same sentence. As an I.T Manager...
