They are small starlights. LV200 I think. - I've got a spare at home I'll post more details later. There is a transformer in the loft yes and I think it powers the very same light configuration in the second family bathroom - also a bit of a mess. And yes there is a lot of questionable...

I'm not so keen either but I've seen it installed and it can look nice if done properly. Can you get bigger\wider bezels for these types of downlighters? If so, would sanding the ceiling, repainting it and then putting bigger bezels to hide the mangled holes be an option?

Neither mate - just a really, really bad paint job that is flaking. It's not even washable paint - its matt!! :confused:

No water dripping from the boiler at present. I think the leak has to be on the inlet feed somewhere. Obviously I'm very limited in my knowledge of this sort of thing. I didn't turn any other screws other than the one for the DHW. Pressure is about 2 BAR. You guys know what you are doing...

Done. I thought I had already turned the filling loop taps off!!!...Obviously they must have been already off and I turned them ON!! :oops: Pressure dropping now after I've bled some water from a RAD. Phew... This should see us though now until the engineer gets out to look at the leak...

Ok. I've turned off the DHW valve and turned back on the stop cock - I've drawn a circle round the valve in image 1.. The filling loop taps are isolated too. Turned on the mains water and got some god awful hammering when I turned it on full pelt - I eased off and just turned it on so the taps...

I have isolated it from the filling loop (turned the taps off at both sides of the loop) and also turned off the stop tap. I did both whilst there was still residual water coming out of the boiler so not sure which action has cut the supply... probably the filling loop taps was all that was...

I'm not sure of that. It was cold water that was coming out of the boiler if that's any help?
