Can anyone identify this garden swing please?

Sorry about the small size. It's larger when I view it in my "album", but I can't figure how to get the larger version attached to my posting. OK, I've attached it again to this post, and in "preview" I now get a magnifying glass symbol when I mouse over it. I hope that works when I post it...

Thanks for that link wrathkeg. I'll use them if nobody identifies the swing.

Can anyone identify this garden swing please?

I need a new fabric roof panel for this 3-seater garden swing, but the place I bought it from no longer sells this line, and nobody there (nor me) can remember what the make is. Does anyone here recognise it please? Alternatively, can anyone point me in the direction of someone who could...

Timer failed to shut down boiler.

I had a problem with my British Gas 330 gas-fired central heating -- now fixed by BG -- where the boiler and pump kept going all night, even though the timer should have switched the whole thing off at 10:30pm. The BG engineer said it was because a valve was sticking, and not sending back an...

    dvd transfer

Pinnacle and Corel are both software, though Pinnacle will also sell you a video card with the software if you need it. My video camera connected to my PC via a Firewire socket, and I believe they can also connect via USB2 if you have the right cable. You can get USB to firewire adapters...

    dvd transfer

I would strongly recommend the PC option that Lucid mentioned. I used Pinnacle Studio, and later Corel VideoStudio, to transfer my videos to PC. The advantage of doing it this way is you can edit it as you go along, though it takes a bit of learning to make the most of it. Once on your PC...

    TV auto-tuning to wrong transmitter

Attenuator hasn't arrived yet, but I went to my friend's house today to try out your other suggestions: First I checked channel 800 and, sure enough, there was BBC1 East, followed by ITV (presumably from Sandy Heath) on channel 801. But my friend and his wife weren't too happy about having...

    TV auto-tuning to wrong transmitter

Well, thank you again for all the tips. I've now got a lot of options:- new aerial, attenuator, manual tuning, checking to see if the the programs are there in the 800s, and plugging/unplugging the aerial during tuning. Attenuators are cheap enough, so I've got a variable on order at the...

    TV auto-tuning to wrong transmitter

Thanks Sam. I'm with you on the aerial, but my friend is a bit short of cash so doesn't want to spend money on getting a new one erected. The reflector on his present one looks like a flat plate with slots punched out of it, rather than the V-shaped multi-bar ones I see on some other houses...

    TV auto-tuning to wrong transmitter

My friend is at SG6 2HY. Looking at a map, could it be Hemel Hempstead transmitter he's receiving, for it also carries BBC London? It's closer than Crystal Palace, though it's off to one side compared with the 180-degree bearing difference between Sandy Heath and Crystal Palace. We seem to be...

    TV auto-tuning to wrong transmitter

So, you're suggesting the signal's too strong, and if I attenuate it the Alexandra Palace signal will be so weakened the TV will ignore it? But why would the TV select the signal from the furthest away transmitter, irrespective of how strong they are? It's not a fault in the TV, is it? Oh...

    TV auto-tuning to wrong transmitter

Thanks. I'll go through the manual tuning with him next time I'm round his house. It'll be a new experience for me, auto tuning has always done the job so far.

    TV auto-tuning to wrong transmitter

Thanks for that link rjm2k. I see from that site that Sandy Heath transmits the BBC channels on channel 27, whereas Crystal Palace does them on channel 23. So, do I simply need to make a list of all the Sandy Heath channel numbers, and then use them in the manual tuning option? I also see...

    TV auto-tuning to wrong transmitter

A friend of mine is having trouble tuning his new Freeview TV, a Samsung Series 3 TC300. He (and I) can access all the menus, and set all the options okay (language, country, aerial or cable, etc.), and it goes through the auto-tuning process seemingly without a hitch. The problem is that...

AEG dishwasher using to much rinse aid

Thanks Jackrae. I'm not going to go to the hassle of diluting my rinse aid, but I will give the combination tablets a try. Since my original post I've found that I can get a replacement dispenser unit, and it looks like it might be a simple thing to install. So can anyone tell me if...

AEG dishwasher using to much rinse aid

Thanks for the replies. We still use liquid detergent, not all-in-one tablets. I suppose we could convert to tablets. I've tried using no rinse aid, and I can see that it does make a difference, so is worth using.

AEG dishwasher using to much rinse aid

A while back our dishwasher was filled with foam after each wash. We called an engineer, and he cleared it all out and adjusted the drain pipe where it connects into the pipework behind our kitchen sink -- said that suds could have been travelling back from the sink. Since then my wife's...

Connecting a bathroom cabinet to existing cable.

I was vaguely aware of those zones, and our bathroom is small enough that everything seems to be within the critical distance from the shower. Anyway, thanks for your help. Rest assured I've contacted a professional electrician to do the job for me. I just wanted to get an idea of what's...

Connecting a bathroom cabinet to existing cable.

The cabinet flex has an earth wire. Yes, there's two cables, with each of the individual wires twisted together. I assume it's part of a lighting circuit, but I haven't tested that. I like the idea of a switch, but isn't that a no-no inside a bathroom, even though it's quite a stretch...

Connecting a bathroom cabinet to existing cable.

Now that sounds logical, and a good idea. I'm proposing unswitched and unfused (my main board has mcbs) because that's how the original unit was connected. Given that it's a metal cabinet, do current regs dictate one way or the other on the switch/fuse question? It will be solidly earthed...
