I have drained the primary circuit, removed the electrical connections, plus the 4 allen screws but cannot shift the pump head. it seems stuck! Any tips. I have tried crack iot release spray, a drop of oil but the pump head remains stubborn!! it's in a worcester cdi! :cry:

could be air trapped - might need slackening to remove but get ypour uncle back to take a look

the diaphragm is a part in the diverter valve that allows hot water to fire the boiler up eg when a hot tap is opened. i'm not saying it is this for sure. can you open the hot tap etc and when the noise begins single out where it's comign from?

sounds like it could be coming from the diverter valve - when it moves inside and changing ports

can you listen and hear where the screech is comign from? could be air trapped possibly when the diaphragm was replaced

is the gas meter definetely working ok? is there a reset button on the meter? might need to call the gas board up to check. trying turning power off at the spur feeding the boiler and back on again or check the fuse in it

I've heard of a few of these faults before. I find the best way to fault find this is by opening a hot tap and seeing if the combi still fires instead of going out so soon.

I have been on manufacturer courses, they teach you a bit about their diagnostics etc but don't get much into fault finding with boilers generally. The worcester course was decent, gave me a free card to help with fault finding, plus a long reach magnetic pump head / gas valve adjustment key...

Usually the motor only becomes activated when a hot water demand is made, by the flow switch. then the valve body inside via the motor moves and closes the heating port.
