    House Insurance : Boiler Relocation

My home has recently had a burst pipe and damage as a result to the boiler that was in the kitchen below. It was a conventional boiler with cold and hot water tanks. I'm told by plumbers that I'd had in that the boiler can't be located back where it was as its in a space between an opening...

Hive all installed on wall with fresh piece of 5C cable. Just waiting for next opportunity for power off to wire into boiler and also adapt the fused spur as above.

So quick update, had a gander behind the stat (again) and the fused spur. S***t show of cabling but I've got a good handle on what's where now. Stat - has 3c & e from fused spur, where behind the wall socket it picks up the t3 and t4 connections on boiler side. Fused Spur - mains in top left...

1.5 or 1 or 0.75mm for the hive?

Nope, only got 3 core flex and t&e. I'll get a metre of 4 core. Am I right in assuming I don't need to run an earth to the hive only the L,N,3,4 as ianmcd said. Will the stat not have power from the Spur?

Where I remove the stat can I just terminate all the cables into a junction box with some wagos? Don't need to create a loop or anything daft. Also, the boiler in 3 and 4, do I need to remove those cables and terminate them or just leave in and put the other new cable into the same screw port...

Perfect just seen your post edit. I'll just terminate the existing stat I guess at the point and chok box the terms

Would I just wire it out from the 5 terminals in the boiler using all the cores? Take it I can just daisy off from the boiler terminals in my pic and run a new cable to the hive on the wall? That would still enable the hive to be killed by the Spur correctly Where would the two brown sheathed...

On the money @ianmcd looks like the neutral is wired in but it doesn't track down to the stat. I'll double check where the stat is that I didn't miss anything. Assuming the neutral doesn't run to the stat location, what are my options now?! I probably need to check behind the fused spur also...

Based on this I've found in the installation guide I'll check what colours are where in here. It's a quick cover to remove (clipped) so should be a quick cross check of what's where

@ianmcd would you possibly be able to explain your proposal of the moon or whether myself and @CBW are understanding it incorrectly? Many thanks in advance, before I strip the thermostat again and **** the missus off lol

Good suggestion I'll wire up the L,N and Earth and leave nothing in Term3. Will dig out a plug in a bit and give it a whirl

Vaillant AquaPlus 362-7 & Hive Heating

The only thing I can think as to why @ianmcd said use the moon is that it puts full permanent live thru to stat when heating is off, and when sunshine is selected the stat breaks the circuit until the stat clicks and calls for heat (making the circiit). Help lol

Vaillant AquaPlus 362-7 & Hive Heating

What happens when I move from moon to sun. Both with thermostat (honeywell) calling for increaee in temp. Moon - light off and radiator symbol flashes with pump still active. Sun - light on and flame on boiler kicks in (granted not immediately)

Yeh that's my confusion to what @ianmcd said?!

Vaillant AquaPlus 362-7 & Hive Heating

Nice one. So what's the difference between moon and sunshine then? When I have it in sunshine setting and flick the thermostat up past rhe room temp so it clicks (on the honeywell), the heating comes on. Should this not have been the case in moon? Apologies maybe my understanding of summer...

Mind blown. Do I need to do anything with the programmer on the boiler or just the moon thing Be tomorrow's job now, I've got no chance of killing the power and heating whilst the misses is in lol
