Hi, Ive been given a small portable generator for my remote shed to power some lights and a socket.. im just wanting to know how it all needs to be earthed? Is it treated like a TT system and would it be best to run from the 230v genny socket to a small consumer unit for lighting and sockets...

Thanks for your reply. It is a commercial property but the supply is a no bigger than 100a. so the mcbs are ok for isolation of each sub main? One or two of the sub mains are converted to TT at their point and have double pole mcbs supplying them from a third party panel.

Hi, I had an electrician extend 10 cables in some galvanized box trunking in my work shop and have just come to put the capping back on to find that he has used crimp joints and just put them back in the trunking.... Should these not be covered by heat shrink or brought in to an adaptable...

I have some metal trunking running around my workshop feeding sockets and sub boards etc and I need to add a new small sub board for some machines.. Can I use tri-rated singles in the trunking to supply the feed for the sub board? I have lots of it so may as we'll try use it! Thanks

No brand new, its 10+ years old. its a stone built coffee shop / restaurant. There is a 3 phase service head then half a metre to the left is the main 3 phase DB (under the sink) and that feeds various sub boards in the property / surrounding land.
