    Triton T80 Thermostatic - only lukewarm - Repair/Replace

Changed the thermostatic control valve today. The moment I turned the shower on the reduced flow was evident. It’s working perfectly. Not a difficult job. These showers are quite modular and it’s all push fit internals.

    Triton T80 Thermostatic - only lukewarm - Repair/Replace

I’d done that and tested the heater elements as per original post - thanks anyway. I’ve ordered the new valve, fingers crossed that resolves it.

    Triton T80 Thermostatic - only lukewarm - Repair/Replace

I’ll give you that. Hence would rather replace with Mira if I had to. But just no right hand space to allow for a left entry shower which most Mira’s are (this is plumbed and wired to the right). Fingers crossed I sort this one anyway

    Triton T80 Thermostatic - only lukewarm - Repair/Replace

I’ve flow tested just now with shower head off. Couldn’t find my flow cup so timed into a bucket. Power level 2 Min temperature 8 l/min Max temperature 7 l/min Sounds like this points back to the flow control valve I pasted in my original post. I’ve turned it stop to stop several times but...

    Triton T80 Thermostatic - only lukewarm - Repair/Replace

I’ve just quoted what the product is sold as so everyone here knows the exact shower I have but thanks. I always use the shower with no other water being drawn but unlike my Triton Topaz T100 before this I can easily flush the loo and this one would carry on running at a stable temperature. As...

    Triton T80 Thermostatic - only lukewarm - Repair/Replace

Hi Triton T80 Easi-fit+ Thermostatic 10.5kW My shower has gone from perfect to lukewarm overnight. Both heating elements showing resistance, 10.4 Ohms and 12 Ohms There’s some drop in flow between cold and hot but not huge. I honestly couldn’t tell you if less difference than when it was...

Underfloor leak - Cap off central heating leaving just hot water?

I’ve got a leak somewhere under the concrete floor in my open vented system and get air gurgling through when the hot water fires up as well as some trickling topping up into the header tank. With the heating system being about 40 years old I’ve decided to get it completely re plumbed in a few...

Lost a lighting circuit - fault somewhere tripping MCB

I see where you're both coming from. I know for starters my current sockets and switches are at the wrong heights for current legislation and naturally if I did any of this work it would be to whatever measurements the electrician stipulated in order to certify it. Will worry about that as and...

Lost a lighting circuit - fault somewhere tripping MCB

I'd definitely make sure we're both crystal clear as to what's included in the quote and what I'm doing. Are you implying electricians don't like this type of arrangement in general?

Lost a lighting circuit - fault somewhere tripping MCB

You might regret only asking £1k for the cupboard!

Thanks, I'd found the problem by the time I saw this but your advice is appreciated. G

Lost a lighting circuit - fault somewhere tripping MCB

Didn't mean to provoke the sarcasm but I see where you're coming from. I just meant if I had some but not all lights it would have been easier to find a break for example. CU is at the back of a very well packed walk in cupboard. Emptying the cupboard is a fate worse than death. Specifically...

Lost a lighting circuit - fault somewhere tripping MCB

I've had a really good look in the loft and there's zero obvious damage to any cabling but the wiring for 2 rooms is a right rats nest of multiple junction boxes feeding all the wall lights, it may be worth my time tidying it all up sometime but I really don't see this being a spontaneous issue...

Lost a lighting circuit - fault somewhere tripping MCB

Hi all, Have a problem as per title. I live in a bungalow with two lighting circuits and one is down. The MCB won't stay live, it just pops immediately. I've ensured all lights are turned off so it's not a bulb issue and just need some advice which order to start my search for the fault. I've...
