confused on which boiler to choose

Agreed, I would not be putting a combi in a 2 bathroom house. As for weather compensation, I personally think this over complicates things. We have just had a run of new housing estates we have had to rip this out where the manufacturer refused to come out and repair/replace their own...

confused on which boiler to choose

They are both pretty much identicle inside. I am a big fan of these two boilers for the price, they are basically the old potterton performa/baxi 105 which has been refined fixing alot of the bad aspects of the old model, such as an improved electrical diverter valve (no that crappy mechanical...

    Shower pump/booster and combi boilers?

35Kw sould give you in the region of 12-13 l/min so should be enough. The plumber will need to take the shower pump out as they are not designed for mains systems and could blow the seals.

Combi Boiler size - does it matter?

If this is the case the OP might as well go down argos and pick up a couple of electric fan heaters 2.5Kw each for 9.99 each and be done with it lol

    Induction Hob and Oven

Sorted my mate the sparks (well friend of a friend) is goint to change the mcb from 40A to 32A on the 10mm cable and then I am going to fit a 1G socket in place of the cooker outlet on the 6mm cable meaning I can just plug in a 13A fuse plug. Phew! Thanks for your help.

    Induction Hob and Oven

I have decided I will change the 32A 6mm cable cooker outlet to a 1G 13A Socket for the oven, but still think I need to down rate the 40A mcb for the hob outlet to a 32A to protect the hob and hob flylead?

    Induction Hob and Oven

But then the smaller fly lead cable from the Hob will only be protected by the 45A mcb? Is this ok as it mi's state a 30A connection?

    Induction Hob and Oven

Well MI's state a 13A supply for oven and a 30A supply for hob so....... What I propose is to change the 45A mcb to a 30 mcb which is on the 10mm cable and use this for the hob connection and then as you say install a 13A fsu from the 32A 6mm connection, bit of a pain, but thanks. Just out...

    Induction Hob and Oven

Hi and thanks in advance. I have purchased an induction hob (7.2Kw) and an electric oven (3Kw). There are 2 cooker outlets in the kitchen via 2 switches. The first is on a 32A MCB at the consumer unit in 6mm cable and the second uses a 45A MCB and is in 10mm cable. Can I get your opinions on...

Worcester Bosch 24i Greenstar - Not firing

No, usually the less experienced guys will ask a hand of the more experienced. Throwing parts at a job has long since ceased at BG.

Why are you giving away free trade knowledge

If you read the earlier posts you would see these posts were from over a year ago, before I saw the error of my ways. As for tiling and boiler breakdowns, I don't think you can compare the two. It just make me uneasy that stuff I have taken time to learn and is my living is all getting logged...

Why are you giving away free trade knowledge

I think we need to clarify what is working illegally. Is it illegal in the eyes of GS - no, I'm GS registered and therefore competent and safe to work on gas. Is it illegal in the eyes of BG - Yes, as mentioned they say any work which is in direct competition with them is deemed as gross...

Why are you giving away free trade knowledge

To be honest you are right. I have just rewired my house with information on here so hands up I see where you are coming from. But that was very generic information, readily available, where as the stuff that gets posted on here regarding boilers is very specific. Then once posted anyone can...

Why are you giving away free trade knowledge

Here we go again relentless BG Bashing. As for the workmanship, we are still what most homeowners use as their benchmark and record profits this year show we must be doing somthing right. Homeowners aren't thick and if they weren't happy they would go elsewhere. As for my previous posts, as I...

Why are you giving away free trade knowledge

Both my Dad and brother are Gas Safe registered with their own firms, so when I work it is under them, so nothing illegal. I will just add both are very busy with work. I used to post answers on here and it was actually them that questioned why and when I thought about it they were right...
