CH pipes only 15mm from boiler

All depends how big your place is and what boiler is going on. Went to a customer the other day who had a Potterton Performa 28 and he had a 3 bedroom house. The installer had done the flow and returns in 15 and I said straight away you can't have that. Allthough on reading the installation...

Semi to Fully pumped upgrade Questions. Pics included

Sorry fella, I was looking at the old Oil Fired Danesmore DG 30 which was stopped in 78, didn't realise Worcester carried on doing them only for oil though doh my apologies. Just been looking at the 2 diagrams for the Potterton Kingfisher MKII for a fully pumped congiguration and gravity...

    Shower pump cutting out

Check your installation against how it should be installed in Salamanders free "Pump Right" installation guide (note the section you want is "Right Pumps" this is their range of shower pumps. http://www.salamanderpumps.co.uk/Download/instructions.pdf I just installed the RSP75 to service two...

Semi to Fully pumped upgrade Questions. Pics included

They stopped making this boiler in 1978 and therefore no parts are available or installation instructions, therefore do not know if you can even have it as fully pumped, may overheat with no pump overun if you take away the gravity circuit. Think you should consider a new boiler.

Controller connections, changing from Danfoss to Honeywell

Yeah its not required, just strip it back and isolate it. When you do this, your boiler should have a 3amp fuse spur located near it just switch this off and confirm isolation.

Can't, service the servo valve just replace. Only need to drain system side not domestic Remove the one screw holding it in position, and remove the 2 electrical leads on the microswitch, then slide the servo right then pull forwards to release. Remove the 2 pipe securing plates and...

Very true Micky G, these often get corroded and can hold the servo in the HW mode. If this is the case push down on top of the servo fulcrum and see if it retracts.

Yeah change the servo valve, it will be the answer to all your problems. The servo valve directs the pressure from the pump either to the front of the diverter diapragm or to the back to move it backwards and forwards depending on whether HW or Heating required. The servo valve itself is moved...

Vaillant 828e turbomax 7 yrs old

Its very difficult to see if a plates blocked up. A good indication it is is when you wash it out you initially get lots of black flakes come out. Did you try the test I mentioned, I know you had a new Diverter but they can still sdtick and let by and therefore heated water which is meant to...

Controller connections, changing from Danfoss to Honeywell

Hang on there a minute nothing I have said is incorrect: The diagram you have posted is for his old room stat the Danfoss, if you follow this link you will find the wiring diagram for his new one the Honeywell: http://europe.hbc.honeywell.com/products/pdf/en0h8547uk07r0906.pdf A is your...

    wiring diagram for heating

I would use 2 programmable room stats, as you dont need hot water control this would simplify things. Better still I would use wireless ones therefore the receivers, can be connected next to their specific zone valves. You will also need 2 zone valves. In brief here is what is required...

Help! Sunvic 3 Port Valve Actuator

Like Gas Guru said, if the CH was the last demand to go off it will stay powered up, holding the spring and valve open until a hot water demand sends it back to rest. So if the CH is the last to go off at night it will stay powered up and warm. Try making the water go off 5 mins after the CH...

Vaillant 828e turbomax 7 yrs old

More than likely the Plate to Plate, but I would also check the diverter valve isn't sticking, they have a habit of doing this on these models. With the boiler off keep your hand on the central heating flow pipe and then get someone to open a tap, if it starts to rapidly heat up the diverter...

    Thermo replacement problems

To be honest I would use a Danfoss controller over a Salus any day of the week. Your system will more than likely work like this: Clock sends power to Common on room stat. If the room stat is turned up this sends power out the Calling to a motorised valve. This will in turn motor...

    Thermo replacement problems

The ICOS is a conventional boiler and not a combi. Firstly lets clarify a 3wire stat and a 2wire stat A 3 wire stat usually consists of a Common, Calling and a Neutral. A 2 wire stat consists of just a Common and a Calling. On a 3 wire stats the neutral is used to power a built in...
