    Cabinet Hanging Rails

Had a look at the Ikea rail. It may work but it just looked to have too much depth. It had a double lip, which is presumably for strength. Didn't want to take the risk that it would not be suitable. I guess the other alternative is removing 2M x 4" of the plasterboard and securing a wooden...

    Cabinet Hanging Rails

Need a 2M length of this for 4 wall cabinets on a partition wall. Can't find this item in local DIY centres. They are online but some seem to be trade packs only and / or the delviery charge make it 4x the price! Ikea sell something called METOD galvanised suspension rail so that could do...

Cookier Hood Appliance Cable behind Dot and Dab Plasterboard

Need to run a cookerhood cable (the appliance's own 2-core flex) to a fused spur outlet. The FSO is near the top of the wall about 2 foot to the right of the flue covering. Is it OK to run the appliance cable horizontally from the top of the flue covering straight into the FSO behind the...

    Kitchen Cabinet Doors 590mm wide

OK I'm sold! On a related theme I want to inform anyone about ordering samples. I ordered three different samples. One of a complete high gloss cabinet door and two of acrylic backsplashes. The first acrylic backsplash was useless. It was the size of a matchbox and scratched with rough...

Route Fused Connection Outlet via Light Switch

Need to power kitchen cabinet lights. It has a transformer and thus switching on at a plug / socket is not suitable. I have a spur at the top of the cabinets, which I can connect a Fused Connection Outlet to. A few feet away are two existing light switches. Thinking of changing the light...

    AVG FREE?

Avast used to be good but has now gone down the bloatware route too. It's all about dumbing down; making the user have less choices and less interaction with the day to day running of devices. --- If you want low interaction without the bloat, or if you have a slower device and want a...

Google Chrome - plays Youtube videos with a sound stutter??

Is the disk chugging more than usual? Does it happen all the time or at certain times of the day? Does it happen straight away or only after the PC has been on for hours? Is the web browser the only thing open or are there other programs running in the background? Follow the advice on this...

    Selective service unavailable 503 errors.

Sounds like the sites you are trying to access have issues not your device. But if it is lots of sites then it could be your DNS problems with your ISP. Try changing your DNS settings to something like opendnss http://www.opendns.com/ But make a note of how to change it back in case...

    Microsoft RAM license

Isn't it obvious that 4Gb means 4 Giga Bytes. You can't buy 4 Giga bit memory. So stating 4GB or 4Gb is not an issue. I know the correct terminology is 4GB but I also know that others will know I am on about 4 Giga Bytes of RAM (or is it Ram, ram R.A.M.) So it doesn't matter if 4gb 4GB or...

Tips And Advice For Keeping Desktop PC Running Well?

Add more RAM That is the biggest speed increase you can do in-situ. The hard disk is the slowest device in your PC. More RAM will help prevent it from thrashing around. Install an SSD drive These are much cheaper and more reliable now. Ideally you would want to reinstall the O/S on it but...

    AOL 9.7 freezing (fixed, 64bit to 32bit)

Did it also update or install any new internet protection suite / antivirus? It could be a conflict with that and your existing AV software or firewall. Agreed with the others though. AOL is so 90s. Upgrade to something proper.

Which PC has the better processor, ram and disk (size and speed)? Keep the best one and just take the disk out the other one. If the RAM is compatible then run with the biggest combination you can. If not choose the box which has the most RAM as that is more important than similar dated...

    Two Light Switches 2x T&E into 1x 3C&E

Moving it from a removed pillar to another pillar 3ft away "as the crow flies". Cable run is about 8ft. 4ft across 3 beams and down 4ft roughly. There is an existing 2.5mm cable, which has been removed. I thought 1mm 3core would fit through the free hole easier than 2x 1mm 2core.
