    Low voltage (50-1000v ac) should be separated from extra low voltage (0-50v ac) by 50mm to the regs. I wouldn't be running it through say, the same joist holes / spaces as lighting or other 230v circuits, and as ricicle says, I'd mark it at strategic points.

    I think the others are trying to get him to swap the switch wires around. So black (with red marker/sleeve) is the "switched wire" as opposed to the red, as it is now. (Or was! Depends how fast he is!!!)
