Celotex PL4025 v Mannok Therm Laminate (Insulated PB)

I have placed an order online for x25 boards of 37.5mm Celotex PL4025 Insulated plasterboard. However, the company I ordered from has now informed me that the item sent will be Quinntherm QL Kraf. Looking online the Thermal Conductivity is the same on both products mentioned, @ 0.022 W/mK...

50mm Screed drying time in basement

I may just do that. My stud will be 100mm, u left an additional 100mm where the UFH pipes have been laid. So mechanical fixing into the 50mm will be an option. Have a few other things to get on with so will let it dry out further.

50mm Screed drying time in basement

50 days for fully cure for 50mm. However will/should that stop me from carrying on the metal stud work? I just need to stick down the metal U channels to the floor using adhesive. As long as the top of screed is dry it should be OK to proceed? I don't intend to switch on the UFH or tile just...

50mm Screed drying time in basement

Yep, Glue. Something like: HB42 adhesive Metal stud frame, floor to ceiling. Not fixed directly to basemen walls to prevent the tanking from being penetrated with screw holes. Top of metal stud will be mechanically fixed.

Wet UFH pipes under drinks bar

I am planning to have a drinks bar installed once I complete fitting out a room. Regarding UFH, would it cause an issue of having UFH pipes running below the drinks cabinet? I plan to have one mini drinks fridge also. Majority of drinks would be kept 4ft+ off floor level. No food to be...

    PIR v EPS/XPS

Understood. My plan is to add an extractor to help with the ventilation. The basement is 2/3 in ground, 1/3 out, it has 3 windows with trickle vents to again help with ventilation. If needs be I can install a dehumidifier. Option1 50mm rigid board against the internal walls. 50mm metal...

    PIR v EPS/XPS

Basements are generally known to have a higher humidity/moisture level. In addition, XPS comes in at a lower cost that PIR, hence the question.

    PIR v EPS/XPS

I am planning on insulating a basement. Would XPS be a suitable product for this as it has a low moisture absorption and tolerance of wet environments (v PIR). Basement walls are uneven so would rigid board be a hassle to fix? Planning to use adhesive to stick the boards as I do not want to...

Liquid Screed drying time - Fixing metal studs to floor

Would this work. If I lay standard bricks (76mm height, 102.5mm depth) along the walls around the perimeter of the basement (where the metal studs will eventually attached on top) Install DPM and perimeter insulation I can then use this as a border area to install the UFH pipes and for the...

Liquid Screed drying time - Fixing metal studs to floor

The completed stud work will be 100mm away from the walls. I then plan on installing the UFH pipes a further 100mm away from stud walls. Area in question is a basement, hence the metal stud route. I do not want to compromise the tanked walls by using conventional timber framework.

Liquid Screed drying time - Fixing metal studs to floor

UFH pipes and Liquid screed at approx. 50mm to be poured in the next week or so. I then plan to build stud walls using metal studs. The tracks for the metal stud will need to be fixed in the floor and ceiling. Questions: How long should I wait for the screed to dry out before fixing the...
