    The hot water is switched on on the boiler, but when i turn the taps on to run a bath, it runs cold for 5 mins, then finally goes warm, not hot. but then runs warm for a while then slowly goes cold again. its driving me mad, how hard is it to just get hot water? its a combi bolier if that helps?

    hammer tacker stapler is best, but if you need to spend 17 quid and then some more for the actual staples, why not pay the 40 quid it would cost for a fitter to do it, and then have piece of mind that its fitted correctly?

    Depends on what carpet your putting down, form back and felt back with no underlay will be sprayed straight down. If your having a decent carpet and underlay then the gripper should be de-nailed, cut into 6 inch pieces and glued down with no-nails type glue, 6mm from the wall and ideally left...

    Just thought, when we lift amtico/karndean tiles, we heat them up first, makes it a bit easier. Not sure if it will work with your tiles, but you could give it a go with the wife hairdryer! long shot! :D

    lol there is no quick and easy way to lift your tiles! haha pure solid elbow grease, or just re-ply over them! actually, you said it was originally plyed, then lift that ply, then re-ply with new ply. But your old ply will be ruined, if you try to take just the tiles off.

    I wouldnt usually recommend laminate for bathrooms, just because of getting water into the joints of wood can cause problems. but if your going ahead.. as long as you acclimatise the laminate before the fit, your not going to get much movement with the floor, most bathrooms are small areas...
