i like useing limelite for these old places, sorry OP for not shedding any light on the problem but i think you need to get someone who really knows what thier doin (not your previous damp proofer) to explore every possible way the damp could be getting in

if its that bad you might aswell just have it skimmed over again by the bloke who messed it up (IF you have just had it skimmed) or just get someone in to price it for you, will make the job 100 times easier

as RC said get a plasterer round to have a look an ask him to properly stitch or lath it before re plastering if he tries to just skrim tape it and skim it it proberly will come back again

i work for a fella who always uses gripfill rich even if the boards are a nice close fit never ever seen a crack. just an idea for ya rich :wink:

gripfill is good for filling wide joints with skrim bedded ontop
