    Garage wiring

Hi, I need some more sockets in the garge, as I have only one. A local sparky has quoted me and it seems steep as he said there is alot of work involved. I didn't think so, but am not too sure. Basically I have one cable coming from the house into the garage, into a double socket, then onto a...

    Garden Eectrics......

    1) Yes the garage is connected to the house. 2) It is part of the ring, IE not a spur from the downstairs ring.

    Garden Eectrics......

The arage is protected by an RCD, but not a "Garage" RCD, it is part of the downstairs ring.

    Garden Eectrics......

I have just had a sparky in to put power into the garden for a hot tub we are getting. I asked about installing some sockets onto the side of our decking at a later date. He told me that would be no problem, waterproof sockets etc... Thing is he said he would probably come off the ring...

    Relocating Kitchen Sink............

The drain is by the existing sink. I have just had a thought, in the living room, there is a false chimney breast, incorporating the waste pipe for the en suite bathroom. In there is the waste pipe for the shower and basin. Could I run awaste pipe through the house wall, along 10 ft, back into...

    Relocating Kitchen Sink............

Hi, I am having my dining room knocked into the kitchen tomorrow to make a bigger kitchen. Thing is we would like to relocate the kitchen sink into what will be the new side of the kitchen, (the dining room at the moment). It is on the opposite wall about 12 feet away, we have a block and...

    Planning Permission?

No, they said they can do nothing about it as it is a single tree (HUGE conifer) rather than a hedge, row of trees etc. The grass is dead, they did get it lopped, but from the top, it still hangs over out fence by 8ft + and thats what seems to have killes the grass.

    Planning Permission?

Well I found out today (offices were open) that in this area you need planning permission for any and everything. This was introduced in 1987 (6 years before the house was built!!!) The council confirmed this today saying that the right to go ahead in this area was removed unless planning...

    Planning Permission?

Hi, I have just received a letter from my local council (Swale) saying it has been brought to their attention that we have put up a conservatory and decking in our garden (I know who reported this, that will be for later). I enquired last year if we need planning permission or not, and I...

    Dam rain

Thanks, I thought of that just after posting this. I went and had a look, and the bricks are 75mm deep with the sill 90mm deep. therefore there is only a 15mm overhang. Where I have pointed the sill onto the top of the bricks, I have been a little careless and some of the mortar goes into the...
